“Daddy,” our five-year-old daughter squealed, chasing my husband around in the yard.
I sat there watching my husband as he played with our four kids. I’d never seen him as alive as when he was with our kids. I didn’t realize I could love Tristen more today than I did on our wedding day, but I was wrong. When he held our first daughter in his arms and cried, I knew that I had married the perfect man.
Ten years. I’d been married to Tristen Watt for ten years. I always thought that marriage would have its up and downs, but for me it had been nothing but up.
I watched as Tristen walked toward me, holding our twin three-year-olds in each arm, while our nine-year-old and five-year-old trailed beyond. I smiled at my beautiful man and stunning children.
“Go wash up. Dinner is almost ready,” I said to them as they ran off.
Tristen picked me up and twirled me around. “I love you.”
“Well, what was that for?”
“For giving me the best life a man could possibly have. I love you, princess.”
