It's possible. I could be a demon.

"Nope. Not good enough," he says.

I'm pretty good at keeping my anger in check, but this line of questioning starts to piss me off. I don't need him. All I need is her.

"Look, I'm just trying to figure all this out. I'm grateful for the ride, but I'll gladly exit here if it's good with you," I say.

Raven reaches back and touches the back of my hand lightly. Goosebumps riddle my body. It's hard to look her in her eyes. Too much beauty gives me anxiety, but I think I manage to hide how I feel.

"It's okay. I believe you," she says.

I'm a grown man. I'm not supposed to have these overwhelming emotions. But as she pulls her hand away, it's impossible to keep my smile down.

"Thanks," I mutter and face the driver. "I think it's time you tell me who you are."

She winks, and I want her so fucking bad. Want her in a way I've never wanted something before.

She directs her attention back to the macho-man driver. "Answer his question," she says.

"Name's Loki," he grumbles. "No need to get fussy, ma'am."

"No need to be a douchebag," she argues.

She's one fiery woman, and I love it.

We take another exit, and we're headed deep into the part of the city my mother used to warn me never to step foot in. No man's land. The rule of law means nothing out here. Most of the lights of the buildings are out, so we can barely see a thing. I instantly get a bad feeling about this move.

I look back and eye the street. If things go wrong, it's going to be hard to find an exit.

"When you picked us up, how did you know we would be there?" I ask.

Loki chuckles. "It might sound crazy if I tell you the truth," he says.

"Crazy is what I do best," I tell him.

"A man in a stretch limousine came to my blacksmith shop on the day I sold the business," he says. "Told me he'd give me a million bucks if I picked you two up. Looks like I'm going to be rich, huh?"

He slows down and locks the car doors. We're on a darkened street full of old newspapers and burning trash cans. Other homeless men and women line the corners, shaking from addiction, disease, and hunger.

Squalor is everywhere. It's just been covered up.

I feel my madness start to take hold. All of this is too much.

I'm forced to tilt my head back as a dizzying sensation overtakes me. The light within consumes.

Another one of my famous revelations takes me by surprise.

Oh, God.

I see fire. Cinder floats over a shoreline. I hear a woman screaming my name, but as I turn, I see no one. Just reflections from within.

Evil, elongated smiles, but I can't make out who they belong to.

And then I hear someone's laugh.

Evil. Pure darkness. Is it Lucifer?

No - it is something much more sinister. But what?
