Loki leans over the computer desk. "Freeze the account. Take down the firm. I don't give a shit anymore."

Nobody else says a word.

"Okay. Fine. I'll do it," I say.

I was the one who grabbed the USB. I knew this was going to happen. So why does it feel so wrong?

I click around the access portal and set up a few sells. Within minutes, all of the stocks have been sold. Soon, I'll be implicated in the crime of the century. None of that matters to me. I just want the world to be safe.

I just hope we're not doing something wrong here.

I freeze and lock the accounts. I'll be deemed an international threat, but the damage will be done.

The old world is over. Welcome, the new.

"Bingo," I say.

"You did it?" Ash asks.

"Yeah. It's done," I say.

I have no idea how to feel. We're all breathing pretty heavy. There's a part of me that wonders if I made the wrong choice.

I carefully log out of all accounts, clear the unnecessary cookies and history and do my best to scrub any traces.

I snatch one of the hotel rooms out of Loki's hand. "Now, we rest," I say.

Heimdall and Loki walk out of the room. They look shell-shocked and a little bit worn down, but I know that everything will be okay in the morning.

For now, it's just Ash and I. We're walking to our separate hotel rooms, and I'm hoping he'll ditch his for mine.

"How are you holding up?" I ask.

He's handsome. The sharp stubble of his five o'clock shadow has started to grow in. His hair is shaggy, but he wears it well. His shirt covers most of his upper body, and his arms are so inviting.

I just want to feel him again. I want to trust in him again. I want to know that he's somehow not responsible for all of this.

He walks with his head down. "I have an endless amount of questions. I thought that being a god would come with answers, but it just comes with more questions,” Ash admits. "But I'm holding on. Best I can, I'm going from one thing to the next. It's a better life than what I had before. Anyway, I'm really sorry, Raven. I haven't asked how you're taking all of this."

There are so many things running through my head. I have trust issues. The photograph I saw, for instance. I can't let that go.

All I can do is hold on to the hope that he's one of the good guys. At the end of this bloody battle, I hope he will stand amongst the council of the gods and hold me in his arms as the light shines upon us.

Maybe it's a dumb vision to hold onto, but it's mine. I'm holding onto it for dear life.

"I'm doing okay," I lie. "Sometimes, I get a little worried, but that's life, right?"

He bites his lip. "I think that life is whatever you make it out to be."

We're getting closer to our rooms.

"Yeah," I say.

Please, don't say goodnight. I need you.

We reach my door, but I have one more question. "If you could go back in time and make things different, would you?"

His eyes reflect the crescent moon above. When I talk, he looks straight into my eyes. I love that about him. I... love him.
