Her eyes panned over to me, and I sighed with relief.

“Then, there’s only one more thing to do,” I said.

“What’s that?” Samantha asked.

I got up from the couch and walked over to her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. I crooked my finger underneath her chin and brought her lips to mine. A sweet kiss with a touch of coffee still on the tip of her tongue.

It was my favorite taste of her. The morning mixed with the night.

“We need to go find us a home,” I said.

“I’ll pull around my SUV,” Logan said.

“I’ve got a realtor buddy that could help us out,” Levi said.

“Can I get a shower first?” Luke asked.

Samantha giggled as my thumb stroked her cheek.

“A house, huh?” she asked.

“For all of us and the baby,” I said.

I wrapped my arm around her and drew her close, kissing her as deeply as I could. She wrapped her arms around me and pressed into my skin, and I could’ve sworn her stomach felt tighter. I pulled my lips away, and my hand immediately fell to her belly button. I cupped the space that would grow and change. The stomach that would morph with the growth of our child. Her hand fell on top of mine, and we lost ourselves in a small moment.

Then I kissed the tip of her nose.

She playfully swatted at my chest, and I slung her over my shoulder. I walked her back into her bedroom and tossed her onto the bed. Luke was showering, and Levi was on the phone. Logan had gone to pull his car around so we could all ride together. Which meant I could steal a few seconds with Samantha.

And I was going to make the most of it.

EPILOGUE

SAM

SEVEN MONTHS LATER

“Oh, no.”

I looked down between my legs and saw clear fluid trickling down my thigh.

“No, no, no, no!”

A shuddering pain wrapped around my back, and it almost took me to my knees.

“Shit!”

I stumbled out of the bathroom and reached for my phone. I shot off a text message to the guys as I stumbled my way into Liam’s bedroom. My water had officially broken. And the contractions were painful.

“Fuck!”

I sent off the text message before I pressed the number one. I called my doula and screamed at her over the phone, then she promptly hung up. It was her job to get in touch with the midwife so they could get over there. And the only job I had was to get the water running in the tub.

I sat on the edge of Liam’s bathtub and turned on the water. I clicked the buttons on the temperature-controlled nozzle until the number read out ninety-eight degrees. That was the hottest the bath could get for the home birth, and I wanted it that way. Another searing pain shot through my stomach, and it buckled me over.

“Holy hell!”

“Samantha!”
