“Think about it Ross,” he whispered as he looked at the couple of people that had come to the office early. “You didn’t even take her home with you. Or even ask her. Right?”

I nodded, finding myself speechless and realizing that the one person that could possibly know if this was love was the one that was giving me advice.

As we stepped into the elevator I was happy that others were leaving the elevator and leaving the elevator empty.

“What else could it be?”

“I just know that I fucking never slept Craig, so I need a triple expresso. Anyway, I only met her one day ago. Don’t be silly, how can this be love? Did you go and see the latest Fifty Shades movie? Is that fucking with your head?”

He patted me on the back. I had to dig at him for his wife’s obsession with the book and the movie.

“Don’t try and change the subject.”

“Why, is she highlighting pages for you again?”

“You really are a bastard Ross.”

He had a point.

“She’s highlighting pages, fucking going to Fifty Shades groups…”

“Shit, is that a thing?”

“Yep. A bunch of women bitching about all the things that their man’s not doing for them.”

Now I was the one who was patting him on the back as we headed out of the elevator and down the street. To the one quiet place where we loved to watch the commuters run to their offices like flies to shit, because their bosses would sack them if they were a minute late.

When you run your own company the last thing you do is run. No one makes you do that. That’s the only bonus of being a boss, then I spotted her as I sat facing the window as Craig went to get the coffees. This time her hair wasn’t tied up like yesterday. It was loose and she was wearing a green suit that matched her eyes.

“Now I can see why she’s your hot temptation.”

I agreed. “She doesn’t belong in an office.”

He laughed as he put the coffee in front of me, “She deserves more than your dick!”

He was right; that was all I had to offer her. As usual, once I’d started him on the subject of Fifty Shades he proceeded to bore me with the details of both the book and the movie. I started to wonder as he was rabbiting on: was he sure that his wife was part of the group? Or was he part of it too?

Chapter Ten

Ross

This was a fucking joke. I was following Craig’s instructions to the letter and staying away from Olivia. I couldn’t have her in my office, not alone. I felt like a fucking lovesick teenager. Olivia was at her desk, while I was sitting at my desk. Fuck, I wanted to get up and get her to come in and bend over the fucking table.

But I couldn’t.

I fucking wouldn’t.

Craig said it was just a few more days and this deal would be done and then I could tell Olivia to resume working from home and I wouldn’t ever need to think about her again. As if it was that fucking easy. I even did something that I never did before and fucking started reading Fifty Shades. Shit, I felt as if I was reading my biography. The guy’s a control freak who doesn’t let anyone get close to him. So I told my department that I would take them out for a drink. I wasn’t a fucking freak!

“Mr. Hamilton, are you there?”

I went to the bar at the corner of my office to get a drink. A stiff one. Even when she took dictation, I couldn’t let her see me. So I was just a voice in a fucking room.

“Yes, yes. Sorry I’m just getting a drink!”

“Do you want me to come in the office? We’ve been doing this all week.” She quietened her voice. “Is this about the other night?”

It’s about every time I see you sweetheart. I just want to do things to you that are against every religion.
