“No.” I said to my bourbon as I saluted myself and knocked it back.

“What did you say?”

I was about to repeat myself, when she came into my office like some damsel in distress.

“This is silly. We’re both consenting adults and we don’t have to behave like kids. You’ve been dictating from the coffee shop.”

Shit. I realized that she must have seen me the day before. I didn’t want to dictate from the office. The fucking temptation was too strong; she was in some fucking red number. She looked as hot as sin. The only way that I could get any work done was to stay in the coffee shop as far away from her as possible. I was about to deny it when she blurted out.

“I saw you!”

“Oh.”

“And God knows where else. I get it. The first day you were distressed. Your fiancée no longer…”

“Who?” I asked as I headed to the door behind her and shut it so that we could have some privacy.

“Scarlett,” she laughed. “She told me that you’re going to get married. She even wanted ideas on dresses.”

This was a fucking joke. I’d thought that Olivia had said something like that on her first day. But I was too intoxicated by her perfume and her feet and hands. I wanted to get her blog up and compare the pictures on there to the real thing. Why the fuck did she think that Scarlett and I were engaged?

I got messages every day from Scarlett, and always ended up deleting them. When she first left I was getting around twenty messages per day, which has been reduced to five. I hadn’t spoken to the woman. I would have thought that she would have got the hint by that point? Who else had Scarlett told that we were getting married?

“Did she show you the engagement ring?”

“No.”

“Do I look as if I’m engaged?”

“No.”

I was in front of her, and moving her toward the door. The same way that I did when we were in the bar. My questions were quick and her voice was quivering as she replied.

“Have you seen Scarlett in here since she left?”

“No.”

“Do you really think that I’m getting married?”

This time I took each of her hands. The pieces of paper that she was holding fell to the ground as my lips were just about to meet hers and then she closed her eyes and whispered, “No.”

Chapter Eleven

Olivia

I didn’t understand what was happening, but I knew that I wanted it so bad. I was completely out of control when it came to Ross. He had triggered something in me that I’d thought was completely dead. I tried to reach for him but he had both my hands locked in his. Then he let go of one and squeezed my breast. Then my ass and then the curve of my hips. He didn’t kiss me the same way that he did the bar. If anything this was just a promise of what he could do to me.

He was exploring my body and his fingers felt as if they were everywhere at once and my body burned in reaction to his t

ouch.

I don’t know how long we were standing there. I felt as if we were the only ones in the building. Then again I was conflicted. I hadn’t been touched like this in forever, he was my boss and that was enough reason to tell him to stop.

Yet my wetness told me that I didn’t want him to stop. That was when he broke away from me; he was breathing heavily and his voice sounded confused as he said, “Sorry.”

He seemed to have a habit of saying that to me.

“Why not me?”
