“You start calling me Mom and we’re going to have issues, pal.”
Nicki leaned off of him and reached for Izzy. A litany of Mama’s made him smile. “Hot Mama?”
“No.”
He laughed and leaned into her for a kiss.
Nicki pushed between them and patted both their cheeks. “Dada.”
“Finally!”
“She’s been saying it for a week.”
“That’s cold. And you didn’t FaceTime me?”
“I figured in person was so much better.”
It was. “There’s nothing better than this. Right now. Right here.”
“Well, get ready for more.” She pulled his hand over to her still-flat stomach. “You gotta stop knocking me up when we go to those award ceremonies, buddy.”
Delight and nerves raced up his spine. He wrapped his arms around both his girls. “I better be getting topaz eyes this time around.”
