“What’s that smile about?” Ranger asked Vincent Carlotto.

“Got a text from Annabella, the manager at Gables. Her and her friends want to come by Carlotto’s tonight to party.”

“She is gorgeous and has one hell of a body, how are her friends?” Ranger asked.

“Don’t know, but she’s sweet.”

“I hope you aren’t planning on making a move.”

“Why is that?” Vincent asked.

“Heard that Sokolov has his eyes on her.” Vincent furrowed his brow and sat up straighter in his chair.

“What? Since when? Ivan never even flirts with a woman.”

“He doesn’t need to. He fucking custom orders them, does his thing then kicks them to the curb. No heart. The man is a fucking monster.”

“I wouldn’t go that far. He’s powerful, he’s head of the Russian families, and he knows his shit. I’ve known him for years and have respect for him.”

“Then don’t sniff around Annabella if she’s on his radar.”

“I don’t think she is. She’s too young, and she doesn’t seem like she would take that bait.”

“I’m just saying what I heard.”

“Well Ranger if he is interested in her he wouldn’t show that publically. She would become a target. He would have to either use her behind closed doors or take major precautions or he would not give a shit and keep her by his side and with a guard around her constantly for her protection. I’m telling you that’s too much trouble for a man like Ivan. He’s a fuck ‘em and leave them guy. No commitments, no attachments.”

“I agree, I said he’s heartless and he’s done crazy off the wall shit to get where he’s at.”

“Well she’s coming here tonight with friends and I’ll show them a good time and feel her out. See if she’s dating anyone.”

“We can both do that, and some of the guys too if her friends are hot.” Vincent chuckled. “I’m going to give Marsal a call and the heads up for a party of seven, at 9:00p.m.”

“Damn, I hope her friends are good looking.” Ranger teased.

“Even if they aren’t, you’re in.” Ranger shook his head at his cousin.

“Why do I let you talk me into this shit?”

“I don’t even have to twist your arm most of the time.”

Vincent’s cell phone rang.

“Back to business.” He said and answered the phone.

Annabella’s friends were in rare form. From the time they pulled into the parking garage two blocks from the club, they drew plenty attention to themselves, all dolled up in their sexy cocktail dresses ready to dance and have a good time. When they got to the line outside the club that went down the block, and they got to pass it and go to one of the main bouncers by the side entrance and were escorted right in, her friends were playing up their roles like they were big shots. She of course led the way with the bouncer and right to a private table not far from the dance floor or the bar. She noticed there were a few tables reserved around them and others already taken up by groups of men who were eyeing her friends already.

As they placed their things down onto the chairs and took in the sights and sounds of the place a personal waiter came over to take their orders.

“Honey, you just keep those Cosmo’s coming and we’ll be best friends tonight.” Louisa told him and he nodded as he wrote down the orders of drinks.

She noticed Louisa, Salena and Alexa’s eyes widen and then she felt a strong, arm wrap around her waist. She turned as that arm slid from her waist to her hip and there stood Vincent. He smiled down at her.

“Hello Annabella.” He leaned down to kiss her cheek hello in greeting, using his hand to pull her close.

She leaned back to look way up at him, and he kept her by his side, his hand at her lower back. “Thank you so much Vincent for setting this up for us. Please meet my friends.” She said and began the introductions.
