“Pussy aches and creams?” Maggie blurted out and Annabella’s face went flush.

“I wanted to let go with him.”

“Then maybe he’s the one.” Eve said to her. Annabella shook her head.

“He’s all wrong for me.”

“Then why did you fight that guy, kick a gun, a loaded gun he held on you, out of his hand when he pointed it at Ivan and his friends?” Salena asked her. Tears filled Annabella’s eyes and then escaped down her cheeks.

“I feared for his life, for their lives. I reacted.” She whispered, and wiped those tears from her cheeks.

“Holy shit, you’re falling in love with a made man.” Allie said to her.

Annabella shook her head. “I can’t. He’ll break my heart. He’ll destroy my independence, and make me into someone I’m not.”

“Or, he’ll love you back. Be exactly what you need and deserve and more, and maybe it will be you who changes him for the better, and he bends the rules for you because he feels the same powerful connection for you that you feel for him.” Alexa said to her.

“Men don’t change for anyone. Certainly not a man like Ivan Sokolov. He would be risking so much though, if he were to claim you as his woman. Made a commitment to you like that. Your life would change, Annabella. You would be the woman, the lover of a made man. A powerful one and you would gain his enemies attention. You think this one guard standing around is bad? Think about riding in an SUV with several and always having one nearby, in the same room, only feet away, no alone time, no privacy, because at any moment an enemy could strike.” Salena said and the ladies were all quiet.

“I think something is wrong with me, because that sounds pretty damn hot. Like a romance novel hot.” Allie said and they chuckled.

“Could be but life as you know it would completely change. It already has because you saved Ivan Sokolov’s life and his guards’ as well. They owe you, you’ve showed loyalty to them, respect, and an acceptance of their authority and power.” Salena said.

“Would it be so bad? To have such protection?” Maggie asked.

“It comes with a price. Annabella just needs to ask herself if Ivan is worth that price.” Louisa said to them.

Commerce and Striker finished up another job. A small one but one that paid them ten thousand dollars.

“This isn’t so bad. Just kind of hate the monkey suit.” Striker said as he loosened the black tie he wore with a black suit.

“I guess we’ll get used to it. A bit different then bullets flying at our heads all the time.” Commerce replied and pulled off the suit jacket then hung it up on the hanger in the back seat before he got into the driver’s seat.

“The guys may not be thrilled with these kinds of jobs. Especially Cole and Falcon.”

“Well they will need to adjust. Right now being upscale security guys and watching over expensive product at events isn’t so bad. You never know when some assholes might try to do a hit and steal the jewels or whatever. They won’t expect us, they’ll assume we’re a step up from mall cops.”

“Mall cops my ass, well we might fucking turn into that if we don’t continue to train.”

“We got that covered. Can even use Ivan’s place. He’s got that state of the art gym. We’ll be just fine.” Commerce said to him.

“There’s that gala event next week. We need to decide who is going to be covering the room and the jeweler, Ross, Deverou.”

“I think we can use Malloy and Credence in the room, you and I on the outskirts once we accompany the items into the building and to the display locations where Malloy and Credence will keep watch. Then we all provide security as they’re packing up and leaving the location and to the building location where the items are secured in a safe. It’s simple enough.”

“Still kind of boring.”

“Better then bullets whizzing by our heads.”

“I guess so.” Striker replied.

Striker’s cell phone buzzed.

“Looks like the guys are hitting that local bar in the Point?”

“The Irish one?” Commerce asked.
