Honestly, her virginity isn’t a big thing at all, it just means that we’ll have to find other ways to get to know each other. A task I’m more than up to.

That’s the plan tonight, get to know her and see if this was just a passing thing, or if it’s something I want to put more effort into.

After a quick shower, I’m on my way to the diner knowing that my mother, Jane, has already sorted out our meal for the night.

“You’re late.” My mother says from her seat at the counter, where she’s sitting with her three lifelong friends—Dee-Dee, Elena, and Stella. “You’re lucky we were able to keep the food on the warmer for you, or it would’ve got cold.”

“I’m not late, it’s seven forty-five. You’re lucky that anyone even told me about the date.” I shoot her a pointed glare that she waves off.

“If we left it up to you, you may not have even known she decided to stay longer.” Dee-Dee points out, and she isn’t wrong. I hadn’t planned on reaching out to Jenni again until tomorrow. That seemed like a reasonable amount of time to me. If the guys hadn’t mentioned it, I probably would have never even looked at my phone until it was too late.

“Is the food already packed up? I want to make sure I’m on time to meet her.” I tell my mother, neither agreeing nor denying with Dee-Dee’s statement.

Like the queen she is, my mother waves her hand at the cook, who happily grabs a few bags from behind the counter and places them in front of her.

“Now make sure you mind your manners, and don’t treat her like one of those girls, the puck girls that you boys are always running around with. She’s a good girl, wife material, not some floozy at last call.”

“Yes, mother.” I placate her while grabbing the bag and attempting to make a run for it.

“And be romantic, tell her how pretty she looks. Compliments! Girls love compliments!” Ryan and Dylan’s mom, Elena, calls out.

“I would give you advice, but I already know you’ll do just fine.” Stella, Eli and Jacob’s mom and the town psychic, tells me with a wink.

Shaking my head I walk out the door and over to the B & B, where I’m meeting Jenni. I look at my watch, and I see that I’m right on time, just as I pull the door open. Once I’m inside I catch sight of her standing by the front desk talking with Meghan Delaney, Brendan’s younger sister.

I take a moment to look at her, I love the casual style she’s wearing of sneakers, jeans and tee that she went with. Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail, and she’s got what looks to be a Mooseheads hoodie hanging over her arm. Even from behind, her shapely body makes me want to reach out and pull her into me. I want to run my hands along those curves and see her reaction as my fingers tease her skin.

With a silent groan, I readjust myself before clearing my throat, knowing that if I stand here any longer, I may not be able to walk in public for a while.

Meghan looks up, her eyes locking with mine as a smirk spreads across her face. Noticing her distraction, Jenni looks over her shoulder and I can tell the minute she sees me standing there, her gorgeous eyes go wide as her tongue slides out to lick her lips in a subconscious move.

Oh yeah, we’re gonna have a lot of fun tonight.
