"He's bouncing off the walls. Duke's sitting on him downstairs."

"Good! Let's do this; I can't wait to be Mrs. Phineas Dunbar one more minute."

My dad helped steady me as I descended the massive marble staircase to the foyer. I was more excited than opening my presents Christmas morning by the thought of Phin standing at the end of that aisle. I could hear the music and see our guests, but the sun kept me from seeing the man waiting for me.

As we paused at the threshold, everyone stood up. The shift let me finally see Phin standing under the covered floral pergola with the minister. His smile was bright and undeniably filled with happiness. A tear rolled down my cheek, and I wanted Phin to wipe it off. As we moved closer, I couldn't take my eyes off my tall, strikingly handsome man standing in his gray suit.

The distance was short, but it seemed to take forever to get to him. His smile was big, and his eyes shined a deep emerald green today, the dimple was in full effect. My dad handed my hand to Phin. "Take care of her, son, she's precious cargo."

Phin took my hand and squeezed it. "Yes, she is, Dan."

My dad stepped over to my mother who was crying into her boob tissues.

Phin pulled me closer; my face hurt from the smile stretched across it, as I tried to remember to breathe. He winked at me, and we turned toward the minister to say our vows.
