“It’s perfect,” I said, reaching for a napkin. “I feel so spoiled.”

“You can tip me later,” she said with a wink.

I laughed and went for a slice of bacon.

I wanted nothing more after I finished breakfast than to take a shower, but I also didn’t want to overstay, so I told Alivia that I should get home.

“I really should go see that the cleanup crew did everything right and that the chairs have been put back and so forth,” she said.

“If you want, when you’re done, you can come over later,” I said, leaving things open-ended.

“That works,” she said, getting up and pulling her work clothes out of her dresser.

“So I’ll hopefully see you later? I can make you dinner,” I said. I’d just have to stop at the store so I could get all the ingredients for lasagna.

“That would be great,” she said, coming over and giving me a searing kiss that had me wobbling on my feet.

It took everything in me to turn around and walk out the door.
