Jett stands up. “Now, Meadow.” He takes her hand, as she scoots out of her seat.
With their fingers intertwined together, they come to me. “Can we’s do it now, Stone?” Her sweet little voice pulls at my heart. I’ve come to love her so much.
“Yes, sweetie.” I push from my own seat, standing in front of the table. I reach into my pockets, pulling out a ring from each side.
Charis and Gibson hold on to one another.
“This is what I’ve been building to, what I hope we all have been building toward. Would you two—”
They’re out of their chairs; both are on me before I know what’s going on.
“Yes, yes,” they’re in unison together.
I kiss each one, as they make me the happiest man on earth. I hear Meadow whisper in not a very good whisper to Jett.
“Does that mean they’re getting married?”
I dart my attention to our kids because they belong to all of us.
“Yes, baby, that’s exactly what it means.”
