EPILOGUE

TWO YEARS LATER

CHARIS

“Ten fingers, ten toes, love,” Stone begins, holding our baby, not even a minute old.

“Penis? No penis?” I ask, wondering if we’ll have a similar situation as Jett the first time he understood what an erection was.

“Oh, love, this little one is a…” Stone is still holding our baby, having helped in the delivery, with Gibson near my head. And we still don’t know what the gender is.

“Such a jackarse, always,” Gibson teases beside me, although he’s not really joking.

“It’s a penis. We’ve got a penis, love, Teach. A little boy, hopefully he’s more like you than me.”

He’s not wrong. Jett is the greatest kid. I’ve come to love him like he’s mine, but he’s also one hundred percent his father, so there’s never a dull moment with him.

Stone wanted another child, and I wasn’t done with children either. It didn’t take long to convince Gibs to expand our family. And when Stone wanted Gibs to be the bio daddy, I knew what I’d learned about Stone so long ago. He’s selfless, putting us first.

Biologically, the baby with the penis my one husband is holding may be Gibson’s, but Stone loves him like he does both Jett and Meadow. And Stone and Gibson are the fathers to Meadow her own father never will be.

“Let’s see him, Doc,” Gibson demands.

Stone bundles him up, bringing the little wrinkly baby our way.

And what’s more, with my Greek heritage, there wasn’t a question what the baby would be named. Greek custom dictates to name it after the paternal grandfather, but both of my men, my husbands wouldn’t consider anyone but my own father’s name.

“Welcome to the world, Angelo Smith-O’Leary,” Stone begins, passing his son over to Gibson to meet for the first time.

The way my husband takes in his flesh and blood is priceless. I stare at Gibs, staring at Angelo, and with our baby’s deep jet-black hair, it’s all Gibson, since my hair’s always been lighter.

“What do you think, baby? Want to keep him?” I ask.

“I’m never letting him go.” He holds on tight to his son, all the while Stone’s hands are on both Gibs and me.

It’s how I feel about this whole life I’ve been given. I’ll never let it go. None of it.

The End
