He shrugged. “Enjoy the attention. Ignore you. Pretend like you don’t exist. I’ll do everything, but you need to constantly work to get my attention.” His tone was flat, but it only infuriated her further.

“You’re sick! You know that?” She fisted her fingers into her palm like she was stopping herself from scratching his face. He smiled, enjoying every bit of her frustration. Something deep inside sizzled at the thought of having this fun for two months and putting her in a tight corner.

Payback for taking him for a ride knowing who he was.

“Do we have a deal?” He held his hand out.

She grumbled as she took his hand, and as if that was a way to vent out her frustration, she squeezed his hand, her nails digging into the side of his palm.

A shudder passed through him as his mind played a hot scene in front of his eyes. He could not help but wonder what it would be like to feel the tightness around his hardness and her nails dig into his skin.

Stop! A warning was issued. He needed to train his body to fall out of her spell. It still hung over on the dirty dreams he had the few days he spent not knowing who she was.

Now, he was going to make her pay, and he will have a ton of fun doing so.

As if she saw right through his thoughts, she pulled her hand away. “And don’t get too many ideas.”

Her words shook him out of the haze. “Don’t flatter yourself too much just because I had asked you on a date. You are just like any other girl I’ve gone out with. Now it’s your turn to sweet talk me into a date, and you win!”

“I effing hate you.” She ground her teeth.

He could only laugh. “It’s mutual, darling. Now get on with the agenda. The two months start now.”

“What happens after two months. Why that specific time?”

“You want to spend more time wooing me? I can tell you are looking forward to this.” He winked.

“No. No. I hate this, this entire situation, and the fact that it’s you I’m having to deal with.” She looked up at the sky like she was questioning the universe for why things were that way. “I want to get out of this sooner. I got no time for you.”

“Fine. No time limit. The sooner you get me to go out with you or reciprocate, then you are off the hook.” He was surprised how much he was enjoying this. It was a lot more than getting her booted out of the campus as he had thought initially. “And the moment I feel like I’m not getting enough attention, I will find a way to leak the video.”

“Such an asshole you are.” With those famous words, she turned away and picked up her bag before she left. He kept his eyes on her, his gaze slowly lowering to the natural sway in her hips.

“This is gonna be so much fun,” he said, almost to himself. A new kind of excitement swarmed him.

Chapter 11

The following morning, Nami woke up to loud banging on her door. She had barely slept a couple of hours after all the high drama in the middle of the night. She sleep-walked to her door and unlocked it to find Ramya about to lose her mind.

“You will not believe what happened last night?” Ramya always had something fun and exciting to share from the gatherings she attended.

“What?” Her head felt heavy.

“Varun’s powder blue fancy car got egged.” Ramya let out a shriek of joy, and Nami’s back stiffened. She was too angry to process the outcome of her actions. Her heart thudded with sudden fear, wondering how everyone in the campus was handling it.

“What are you talking about?” She didn’t want anyone else to know, especially her cousin and roommate. “Did you check on Vasavi?”

“She is up and was the one who called to tell me about the massacre on the asshole’s car.” Ramya laughed, following Nami to Vasavi’s room.

Nami knocked and waited for Vasavi to respond. It had been two days since her roommate came home with bruises on her face and a broken lip. She had not stepped out of the housing unit from the time the car incident happened between her and Varun.

The car-obsessed asshole.

She could only smile, looking at how happy Vasavi looked despite the leftover bruising on her face. Varun had pushed her around for accidentally scratching his car—a hairline one that was barely visible.

“I know it’s mean, but I would kill to see the expression on his face when he found the dried- up egg on his bonnet.” Vasavi laughed.

Ramya sat next to Vasavi on the bed, gently hugging her. “He deserves it. Whoever did it is just super cool.”
