There was no way she was going to get on his bike again. Ever. She took a moment to kick off her sandals before picking them up with her hand as she started the walk back to the campus.

She heard him call out to her, but she did not stop. It was a few miles, but she was not going to make a fool out of herself again like that. She wanted to kick herself for falling into the trap and giving him so much pleasure.

She heard his motorbike approach her, the sound of the engine soft. “Varma, get back on the bike.”

“Buzz off, bastard. I don’t want to see you again.” She was livid.

“You know I can make that happen with a click of one button.” He laughed, implying the video upload.

She stopped walking and glared at him. “I hate you so much right now, I want to peel the skin off your face and dig your eyes out.”

“Wow, you’ve got a violent streak. Nice. I like that,” he teased as if rubbing salt into her wound. “Now, get back on the bike.”

“No. I’d rather walk.”

“Then you better get ready to walk and then pack too. It won’t take me long to get the video circulated.”

She stopped, and he brought the bike to a halt next to her and looked at her like he was unaffected by how angry she was.

“Get back on the bike. Now.” It was a threat, and she knew it was not her night to win the fight.

Swallowing her pride, she unbuttoned her skirt and hopped back on the bike. In that moment, she realized it was going to be a long road home. She had no choice but to bear his antics, accept his reckless, arrogant behavior for what might be for the entire time she would be at Simha.

It sucked to be her!

Chapter 14

There was no one Nami hated as much as her rival. The guy was beyond annoying with his antics. After the embarrassing experience at the lighthouse snack shack, she knew she had to be extra careful with him. She had no choice but to make him a part of her Simha life.

For days, she was upset about how things transpired the night they went out for dinner, but she kept up with the routine—dropping off his protein shake, take two sips of it before handing it to him, walking away from him, and then meeting him for dinner. He was his usual self, taunting and teasing her as they ate, but she maintained her cool.

She was giving him too much pleasure by showing how much she was irked by his actions and hoped he would lose interest when she had nothing to offer for his sick entertainment.

That evening, she was at the cafeteria waiting for him to show up and grace her with his presence before she could go back and catch up on some of her classwork. She was thankful he had a busy enough schedule not to bother her between classes.

She looked up when she heard footsteps, and to her surprise, it was Vasavi and Ramya and not Rana. They both looked worried. “Hey, girls.”

Neither of the girls responded but sat down at the table. They looked around the cafeteria and leaned closer. “Nami, have you seen Varun?” Vasavi asked.

She scrunched her nose and wondered why she was asking about her ex-boyfriend. “No. Why do you ask?”

Ramya jumped in before Vasavi could respond. “That guy is suspecting one of us to have egged his car. He is looking to get back at us.”

“What?” Nami’s heart dropped to her stomach.

Did the Simha asshole leak the video?

“He’s gone nuts,” Ramya rolled her eyes. “He has been asking everyone who was out partying that night if they heard or saw anything.”

“He’s lost it,” Nami said, although she was shaking on the inside with fear. Did Rana make a deal with Varun to spice up his entertainment?

That bastard!

Vasavi looked around the cafeteria. “He thinks I asked someone to do that.”

Ramya rolled her eyes. “On hindsight, we should have done something about how he behaved with you. That would have given us immense pleasure.”

“Let it go, Ramya.” Vasavi looked dejected. “I just don’t want him to annoy you two.”
