“Whoa, who’s the hottie?” Jenny asks.

“Jenny and Stephen, this is our PR Myka Johnson. Myka this is our older brother Stephen and our little sis, Jenny.”

Myka extends her hand to them. Stephen lingers a little longer than needed.

“Okay, everyone here has met the pretty lady, let’s eat.”

“Oh, Mr. and Mr.’s Ashton, I almost forgot.” She passes the bag over to my parents. “These are for you. Thank you for inviting me into your home.”

They open the bag. “Oh, my favorite wine. Did Simon tell you?”

“No. mum. She picked it out on her own. I was busy fighting off a swarm of ladies.”

“As usual,” Jenny quips, passing the plate around.

“Well, no matter. We appreciate the gesture, love.”

“Yeah, this is a nice brand of Scotch. I’ll have to save this for a special occasion. Thank you dear.”

“You’re both welcome. The food looks delicious, by the way.”

“Sebastian phoned and said they were here to do a local radio show and wanted a huge comfort meal. But he said we had to add Collards and cornbread. I had to go ask Levi and his wife Marnie to help with the sweet potatoes. They insisted we made you feel as comfortable as possible.” Mom explains.

She effectively just outed me as part-culprit in the change of dinner plans, but I pretend otherwise.

Myka shoots me a glare that confirms my suspicions that she knows about our ruse.

After everyone has dished up and plated their food, we say a word of thanks and eat.

The sound of silverware clinking against the plates is the only sound as silence falls. I look over to Myka who is stuffing her face. This makes me happy to know I was able to recreate one of her favourites. Well, my mum was able to do the cooking, I just provided her with the idea.

“Myka dear, how did you end up with our boys and their best mates?” Dad asks.

She takes a sip of her water before answering. “To be honest sir, I love challenges. When my boss approached me with the opportunity to take one of the hottest bands in the country, I couldn’t say no. And then I read about Simon, and I knew I had to see if I could break this wild horse.”

“Oh, so you are banging my son.”

I did a whole spit take of the wine I was sipping. “No Dad. We are not screwing. She meant, ``break me from my bad boy habits, not actually riding me.”

“I think she’s doing a fine job.” My mum pats Myka’s hand in a vote of confidence. “Simon speaks of you all the time.”

Myka peeks at me and blushes a little, sending a jolt to my balls. I squirm camouflaging my readjustment.

“Mum, that was a great meal,” Sebastian says, getting up and clearing the table.

Myka stands and takes my parents’ plates. “Here, Sebastian let me do that. You spend time with your family,” she demands sweetly.

“Oh no dear. You’re a guest in our home, let the boys get those.”

“I’ll get them Mummy,” my younger sister interjects. She rushes around the table to Myka’s side. “I’ll wash and you can dry if you like.” She smiles big as she scampers off to the kitchen.

Sebastian, Myka, and I follow. To be honest, I follow Myka.

The sway of her hips while she moves effortlessly in her heels to the kitchen has me completely mesmerized. So much so I don’t even notice my sister when I bump into her.

“Oi, you’re gonna bloody knock me over.”

“Sorry, Jenny. I didn’t see you there.”
