FORD

Women are the most confusing and infuriating creatures on the planet, but fuck, do I love them. Ivy did a complete one-eighty after our shower, and now I’m wondering if we have a future together. Maybe I’m a poor judge of character, or maybe she’s a good actress. This is Hollywood, after all.

Ivy isn’t gone long before she’s bursting back through the door of the suite.

“Ford!” she yells. “I know who it is!”

She rushes toward me, practically knocking me over.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on there, princess. What are you talking about?”

“The pictures! The paparazzi! It’s Jacob Taylor.”

I wouldn’t put it past him, but if what she’s saying is true, Nolan’s entire movie is fucked.

“How do you know this?”

She rapidly begins explaining how she ran into a crying girl named Tracy in the hallway and then a few minutes later, Jacob appeared.

“And then he called me a kinky bitch—”

“He did what?”

She waves her hands. “Don’t worry about that, Ford. He knew things about last night.”

I hold up a single finger. “First, no one better call you a ‘bitch.’ Ever. If they do, they’ll have to deal with me. Second, what do you mean he knew things about last night?”

A scarlet blush blooms across her cheeks. “He knew I was tied up last night.”

“I’m not saying you’re wrong, but it’s an open secret in Hollywood that I’m a kinky son of a bitch. I’m sure he knows that about me and put two and two together.”

I hate giving Jacob Taylor the benefit of the doubt, but I have to be certain before I hunt him down and ruin his perfect smile…and Nolan’s film.

“I’ll have Jasper look into it,” I finally say. “And if you’re right, I’ll handle it.”

“Okay, well…I’m going to go back down to work on some of the prosthetics.”

I latch onto her wrist, spinning her toward me. Ivy won’t run away from whatever was bothering her earlier. I’m going to sort this out right now.

“You’re not leaving here until you tell me what sent you running.”

“It’s stupid,” she says dismissively.

“Whatever it is, it must have been important enough to make you second-guess yourself. Tell me.”

Her shoulders sag slightly. “It stung a bit when you said you were only here for work.” She rolls her eyes. “Like I said, it’s stupid. How could you have known we were going to meet? I certainly didn’t.”

“Thank you for telling me. You’re right. I couldn’t have known we’d meet in an elevator. I came here to do a job, but I’m staying in this godforsaken hellhole because of you.”

Her lips twitch before she bursts into laughter. “You really hate snow, don’t you?”

“Yes!”

I pull her tight against my chest and wrap my arms around her. Her clean floral scent is heavenly. I want to smell it every day for the rest of my life.

“God, I want to fuck you so badly, but I need to email Jasper before I forget. Could I possibly talk you into blowing me while I work?”

Her body shakes with laughter as she presses her head against my chest. “You are an old, horny bastard.”
