I smiled, not feeling as optimistic as she did. She looked at everything with rose-tinted glasses. But that was because her family disowned her for quitting Omega College. She wanted what I wanted—a quiet beta life. At least, until a week ago, she did. But now I could see she saw the potential of having a pack.

It was also possible Isla was using me as a guinea pig. Letting me be the one who tried it and for her to decide if it’s what she wanted. She’d alluded to it a few times over the past few months, her loneliness, her needs not being fulfilled, and the yearning she had for a child.

“You will get your pack,” I said.

Isla smiled. “And so will you, but first you need answers and there’s only one way to get those.”

I nodded my head. Despite the confusion in my brain, I felt strong. “I have to do it for my mum and sister. I need answers for them.”

And I did. My sister Georgie accepted being an omega with open arms, and she dreamed of the day an alpha would claim her. She loved Saint, and he was supposed to love her back. But since her disappearance, I hadn’t heard from him.

Did he plan it?

Did he have another omega now?

I dropped my head on the sofa and sighed. I forced my memories and my fears aside for now.

You’ll find her. This pack knows more and you’ll find out.

This is it Tilly, it’s how you find them.

“One thing, Tilly,” Isla said, and my eyes shot open to look at her. “Don’t let them bite you. Your pack can’t claim you until you know for sure.”

“There will be no biting.”

Isla curled one side of her lip in a sly smile. “Just everything before the claiming.”

I smiled. I had my Prince Charming or two of them, but I wasn’t sure if they could give up their evil stepbrother if he was involved.

“But remember Tilly, two of that gang are now looking for you. And I would say those men are your real enemies,” she said.

“They won’t find me,” I said.

“They know the club you frequent and they know where you work.” She pursed her lips together. “They have more information on you than you realise. Which means...”

“It was James. He was working for them,” I whispered.

“And it also means they know where you live.”
