Bal’s face had gone ashen. Nayome wasn’t sure how to interpret his reaction.

“I don’t know what to say,” he said. “I didn’t expect this.”

“I thought it would be a good surprise…Bal, I’m sorry. I should have said something earlier.” Nayome was rambling, and she felt dread creeping in, realizing she may have misjudged this.

“If I hadn’t already known that I was in love with you, I would have no doubt now.” Bal said, looking intensely down at Nayome.

Nayome sucked in a surprised breath, her eyes rising to meet his. Bal’s eyes were bright as he looked down at her face, the dark depths sparkling with emotion. Nayome felt warmth flow through her, the sensation filling her to the brim, to the point that she wasn’t sure she could contain it.

Ce was smiling wide, her eyes misting over a bit as she backed away to give them some space.

“Come here,” Bal said gruffly, pulling her to him. Nayome tilted her head back to meet his mouth in a gentle kiss. Pulling away, Nayome saw they had attracted quite a few glances from the crowd. Laughing nervously, her heart glowed as Bal placed a kiss on her forehead before backing away.

“Shall we?” He asked, smiling and motioning to the center of the clearing. Nayome saw that a crowd had started to assemble around Gabe, who stood a good head taller than any of the assembled guests.

Nayome swallowed nervously, but followed his lead.
