Chapter 15

Cahill

What a week. I have busted so many men, low and high to get information about Sophie’s father, and I have learnt sweet fuck all. I am pure raging and finding it hard to control my anger. Ruairi and Liam better have something for me and fucking fast.

I have had the best morning with Soph. I can’t believe she submitted to me so quickly. Her body is so responsive to my touch, it makes me feel like a king. No woman has ever made me feel this way. I know she is new to all of this, but Jesus, Mary and Joseph, she is the queen at it. I want to explode every time I am touching her, smell her or feel her soft little hands on me, anywhere. After we get to the bottom of this shite with her father, I will be tying her to our bed for weeks, then I will marry her, and take her somewhere to keep under me for another two weeks, at least. I just can’t get enough of her—all of her, body, mind, soul, her laughs, smiles, and even her cute singing.

I leave her sleeping in our bed and walk out to find Ruairi. He texted asking to meet him at the restaurant. He usually doesn’t go there unless it’s very important. We usually take people to the casino or under the house if we need to get information, but not the restaurant because too many people see things they shouldn’t.

I quickly get changed and head for the door.

“Jones. Sophie is upstairs, if I’m not back by the time she wakes up would you see if she wants to go shopping? I need her to pick a dress. We are re-launching the casino in a week or so, and I want her to be there. You can take her to get something.”

“Of course, there is nothing I would rather do than to go shop for a dress,” Jones replies sarcastically, but I know he will enjoy it.

“My card, and there is no limit, just get her a dress and whatever she wants. Thanks mate.”

“Ohoo, maybe shopping won’t be so bad.” He laughs.

I can’t help but laugh while I walk out the door. What have I let Jones do? He spends more money than anyone I know. He will be treating Sophie to food and wine on my card because he knows the best places to eat. He is a chef after all, and food is his calling, well, after killing people who hurt his family.

I make it to the restaurant after dealing with a few suppliers on the phone while I drive over. Orders still need to be made. I walk down to the office, greeting customers on my way. Everyone wants to say hi to the owner. When I open my office door, I see Liam and Ruairi, but I wasn’t expecting Liam.

“What have you found? It must be something big for you both to be here,” I ask them both. I need any scrap of information at this point. They both look at each other.

“Tell me,” I say calmly, but they both know I am anything but calm right now.

Liam speaks up, “We don’t know anything for sure, but I believe Jonathon is helping her father, or speaking to him, or it has something to do with him.”

“Say what now?” I reply, with a scowl on my face. I can hardly see anything past the red mist that has fallen over me.

“Cahill.” It’s Ruairi trying to talk to me now.

“We can’t be certain, but Liam has heard him on the phone a few times without Jonathon knowing. We now have Timmy hacking into his phone.”

I walk over to Liam and get in his face. “What did you hear?”

Liam shimmies back a little. I know I’m being a dick, but I want him scared. I have killed men for less!

“I heard little snippets like—she is safe, he hasn’t touched her, she hit me, she will be there at the dinner with him, she will be at his home that day, and I have a guard watched, I know which one, send your man, and I will get him in, he should be heading toward you that day which will make this better, I know she isn’t to get hurt—That would have been the day of the smoke bomb he was talking about. And Jonathon knows she is working at the casino now too. Ruairi won’t leave her side, and we have wee Dickie there if Ruairi does need to go.” Wee Dickie is six foot and seven inches tall, and built like a brick shit house, there’s nothing wee about him, but the nickname stuck, poor lad.

“When will we hear more?”

“Hopefully later today,” Ruairi informs me. I know he is fond of Sophie. He is working with her and shagging her best mate after all.

“When you find out anything let me know. Is that all Liam?”

“Yes. I am going to get back and try to keep an eye on Jonathon myself.”

“Ruairi, stay, I need to talk to you.”

Liam gets up and leaves. Says his goodbyes to the staff, before he has to take care of some stuff at the warehouse.

“What do you make of this?” I ask Ruairi as I plop myself down in my chair behind the desk. I am exhausted and I rub my hands over my face as I take this in.

“I don’t want to believe it is Jonathon because he has been a good solider. I don’t know what drove him to meet with this man or work for him. Is there something we are missing about Jonathon? I can’t trace who sent the flowers. It was a cash payment, and the person was dressed in black, shades and all. I don’t even have a decent description to go on other than that.” Ruairi sits down across from me looking as defeated as I feel. I know he wants this over, after all, he did tell me to get rid of Sophie.

“In a week or so we are meant to be launching the casino, I was planning to parade Sophie, as she was the one with the vision, and she did work extremely hard on it, but now I am thinking of locking her up in my room and never letting her out again,” I growl more to myself.
