“Did you ever talk to anyone about it?” she whispers.

“I see a shrink regularly. She doesn’t believe that I’m a sex addict.”

Hope glances up at me. “We have been married for over six months now, did you ever feel the need to sleep with someone else even before we started sleeping together?”

I shake my head. Since Ray and Hope entered my life, I haven’t felt the impulse, that craving.

“I’m not a psychiatrist or anything, but I am a mother of a young boy. Maybe you were trying to have some control in your life, and when you introduced yourself to sexual control, it made sense to you. Did you ever…hurt someone?”

“No, never,” I reply quickly.

She nods in understanding. “You are selling yourself short.”

“Does this mean you’re not leaving?” I hold my breath, gripping her tight in my arms.

“Why would I leave? Do you want me to?”

“Fuck no. Never.” I crush her to my chest. “I just want hope to stay in my life forever.” The words feel like a prayer slipping out of my mouth after almost a lifetime.

“I don’t know about that.” My heart races at the sight of her pink cheeks and delicate smile. “But you are not getting rid of this Hope.”

“Say it again.” I hold her face between my hands. My thumbs lazily caress her cheeks, escalating her heartbeat.

“You are not getting rid of me.”

Before the words are out of her mouth, I kiss her hard, sucking her lips to the point that they might bleed. “Fuck, I love you.”

“I love you too.” Her eyes fill with tears as she smiles, and I fall a little more in love with my wife.

“DidI ever tell you that I hate this room?” Hope asks as she lazily draws shapes on my chest where she is resting after we made love.

I shake my head, running my hands up and down her bare back. “Do you want me to add it back to the hotel business?”

“Would you do that?” She looks up through her lashes, resting her chin on my chest.

“I would do anything for you, Hopper.”

And that’s the truth. Whatever she wants to believe in her head about me doesn’t matter, because I know I’m not a good man. But if she can love me even after knowing my fucked-up truth, I will spend every minute of my life proving to her that she made the right choice.

Hope smiles and a foreign calm settles in my heart. “You always say the best things, even before we were married. It’s like you knew what my heart wanted to hear.”

“I don’t know about that, sugar. But I will always try to say and do things that bring this beautiful smile to your face.” I run my fingers along her lips and cheeks. “But don’t forget. I am me and I do crazy things. So, I might fuck up here and there.”

“Yes, you areyouand I love you.” She places a kiss over my chest before sliding down until she is straddling my stomach. She looks so beautiful and sexy, and my dick starts to harden again seeing her like this. Hope gives me a knowing look and goes back until she is sitting on my pelvis. Her hot and wet sex right on top of my dick.

I like her playful.

I love her like this.

I grab her waist, ready for round two when her cell phone rings. She bends over me seductively and grabs her phone from the nightstand. Unable to resist, I draw in her nipple with my teeth before letting it go. “Such a tease.”

She looks at her phone screen and then to me as her smile drops. “Rain check.” She shows me her phone vibrating in her hand as a reminder to pick up Ray flashes on the screen.

Fuck! I don’t want to go back to the real world just yet. I know there is some explaining I have to do to Rose and Kristy and I am sure my phone will be filled with calls from Zander and Zane.

“What are you thinking?” She shifts and her fingers glide over my face, most likely trying to soften my puckered forehead.

“About Rose and Kristy.”

“Don’t think too much. They are family, Zach. I’m sure they don’t believe a word Vanessa said.”

I shrug. I don’t know what everyone thinks or believes. But as long as Hope is with me, I don’t care.
