I looked over at Logan, to see if maybe he’d snuck a peek while I’d undressed, but his head was turned away, in the same position as it was before. A piece of me was disappointed, but the rest of me was turned on as hell at his restraint.

The masseuses returned. Mine folded my blanket down to my waist and got to work. She turned my head, so I was facing Logan, and his masseuse did the same.

Our gazes locked, and the warm oil hit my skin. Long strokes and knowing fingers worked my sore, tense muscles. It hurt a little, no big surprise—I’d been wound up tight long before Pedro left. But when it was just me, everything was harder. Joy had been harder to come by. And sleep was a luxury.

Logan winked at me and reached for my hand.

It was time to turn over, and after a head massage that lulled me into another dimension, imagining it was Logan moving his hands all over my bare skin, there was another one of those jarring hands on my shoulders.

“When you’re ready, meet me in the hallway,” the masseuse said.

I wasn’t ready to move yet. I didn’t want this day to end.

Logan was up first, his back to me, muscles shiny from the oil. He reached for his robe and ran his hand through his hair. It was wild from the massage, and my heart raced with the knowledge of what he’d look like after he got out of bed with me.

My legs were like wet noodles when I ventured into the hallway. My masseuse waited for me, as promised, with a glass of water.

“There’s one more surprise for you.” She motioned for me to follow her.

She led me to another room with a light-framed mirror and a woman checking hair tools to make sure they were on. Makeup lay on the table. “You can stay in your robe for now, but Bibi picked out a dress for the rest of your date, and she wanted to make sure you were ready from head to toe. And she wanted me to give this to you.”

I settled into the tall chair and opened the envelope.
