The constant dingingof my phone became unbearable, but to hell if I was going to unwrap my arms from Ivy to silence it. Instead, I just ignored the barrage of texts I knew were from the guys giving me shit about my abrupt departure and wanting details about how it had gone with Ivy. They knew I intended to make my move and try to crawl out of the friend zone, but what they wouldn’t know is that instead, she’d surprised me with another one of her mind-blowing kisses. Now I started to see past the moment, and it surprised me how quickly I could picture Ivy in my life longer than the weekend. Ivy wanted so badly now to experience new things and throw away all her old ideals and open herself to a life full of adventure. A life like mine. Little thoughts of being at her side as we did them together crowded inside my mind.

I blew out a breath and pulled her against me. “That was hands down the best sex I’ve ever had in my life. Whatever reason those idiots have for cheating on you, this definitely isn’t it.”
Her face lit up like a sunbeam. “Well, thank you for your honest opinion. Although, I have to admit I’ve never let myself be so wild and uninhibited as I was last night. That was ...”
“Incredible,” I answered for her. “It was incredible. And totally and completely unexpected.”
She sucked the air through her teeth. “Yeah. I broke rule number one again.”
“You really are bad at following that rule.”
“Well, can you blame me?” She leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to my lips.
“No. I definitely can’t blame you, and I’m thrilled you did away with it.”
“Yeah. The girls last night convinced me that having a one-night stand was a great idea and to get out of my own head.”
“Oh, they did, did they? Remind me to send them all thank-you notes.”
Ivy laughed. “Yeah. I’ve always held myself back from doing these risky, reckless things, but you only live once, right?”
“Exactly. That’s what I’ve been saying all along.”
“Well, I’m done holding myself back.” She tipped her head. “And speaking of holding myself back, it looks like rule number one is gone, huh?” She dragged a finger across my chest, and my cock throbbed at her gentle touch.
“Oh, it’s completely gone. There’s no going back on it now. If you think I’m not going to keep kissing you and doing other things with you,” I paused and waggled my eyebrows, eliciting a giggle from her, “then you are sadly mistaken.”
“Well, I mean, since I already ate the pizza, I guess why not binge for the next few days while we’re here? Right?”
