“So,” she said as she softened our kiss. “I hope your offer to stay with you down here still stands because, as of this moment, I have no job and no place to live. All I have is what fits into these bags. This is by far the craziest thing I’ve done in my life, but I had to follow my heart, and it led me right back to you.”

“Of course you have a place to stay with me. Always. Mi casa es su casa.” I froze as I repeated the words I’d just said minutes earlier to Alec. “Oh, shit.”

“What? What’s wrong?”

“I just told Alec he could stay with me for a while since he and Leslie just broke up. It may be a tight squeeze in there for a bit. Is that going to be a problem? I can tell him to find somewhere else to stay.”

“No way. Alec really helped me out when I needed him. We’re not kicking him out on my account. I just hope he doesn’t mind having me cramp your bachelor's style.”

I laughed. “Trust me. There was no bachelor’s style to be cramped.”

“No?” She arched an eyebrow.

“No. My bachelor days ended the moment I kissed you. I’m all yours now, whether you want me or not.”

“I want you.” She levered up on her toes and kissed my nose. “I want you now and always.”

“Good.” I dipped her backward, then paused as I held her suspended in my arms. “You know. This yacht is empty tonight. What do you say we spend our first night back together here? I think Alec would appreciate that since I have all the intentions of coaxing all those little—and big—noises out of you tonight.”

Her eyes lit up. “Yes. Hell yes. I’ve never stayed on a yacht before. Let’s add that to the list of things to do.”

“Consider it done.” I scooped her up into my arms, and she squealed as I carried her down the dock and onto the yacht.

“You sure this is okay?” she asked.

“Oh, yeah. They always offer up their boats to me,” I responded as I set her down. “You’ll find out pretty fast that most of my clients are crazy rich, and they are very generous with their things for people who work for them. Like me.”

She looked around the boat. “Wow. This is incredible!”

“Yeah. I worked hard to get her this way.”

“So clean!” She slid her finger along the dust-free mahogany. “And you know how I feel about clean things. This makes me happy.”

I tipped my head. “You don’t have a job, right?”

“Nope. Totally unemployed.”

“What do you say we use your love of cleaning, and you join forces with me in my detailing business? God knows you’re good at details. At least it will give you something to do while you figure out what you want to do for a real job.”

Her face lit up. “I am good at details. And I love cleaning! It’s therapeutic for me.”

“Then you, my love, are hired!”

“Yay! I have a job!” She jumped up and down, then bounced into my arms. “I’m gonna make these boats gleam!”

“I know you are. Our clients are going to be thrilled to have you on board. I know I am.”

“I can’t believe this is my life now.” She opened her arms and spun around, closing her eyes and letting the warm sunshine beat down on her face. “I joked that I wanted to live here, but in a million years, I’d never thought it was a real possibility.”

“Anything is a possibility,” I said as I inched up behind her, pulling her back against me. “If you’ll learn anything by living with me, it’s that absolutely nothing is out of our reach. All we have to do is be brave enough to go after it.”

“Well, I already have the thing I want most in this world now.” She spun around and slipped her arms around my neck. “And I’m never letting him go.”

“Ditto,” I smiled back. “And I promise you that I won’t get in your way of all the things you want to accomplish on that growing list of yours.”

“And I promise I won’t cramp your style either. I know you’ve always avoided relationships because you felt like you’d have to give up your happiness for hers, but I swear to you I’m going to support you and all your dreams too. We’ll both get what we want because we’ll be doing it together.”

“I love that.”
