“Shit, man, Inessa really has fried your cock off. The Rebels produce ghost guns. Top whack shit. They’re not affiliated.”

“Until now?” I predicted.

“Exactly,” Dec said, satisfaction in his words.

“For how long?”

“Ten years.”

“That’s how much Eagle Eyes means to them?” I questioned.

“Apparently.”

That didn’t make any sense, but then also, I knew what people would do for their kids. The lengths they’d go through to keep them safe and happy—which meant the Prez’s kid was loved, and that Eagle Eyes was a lucky fucker to be that bitch’s man.

I stared over at the Yankee Stadium, and muttered, “We don’t have long. If they took him today, he’ll be lucky to be alive.”

“That’s why they’re racing like a bat out of hell to get to you.”

“You know where Eagle Eyes is being held?”

“Had chatter—Brennan just confirmed it. They’re at their compound on the docks.”

“Fucking hate that place.”

My mutter had Declan snorting. “Yeah. Me too.”

His reasoning was different than mine. He had bad memories. Me? I just hated the fucking smell.

“I’ll get dressed,” I said on a huff.

“Aren’t you generous?” he retorted with a laugh. “I’ll be there in twenty. I have to crack the armory.”

“This is sanctioned by Da, isn’t it?”

“Like the original hit was, you mean?” he snarked.

“Fuck you. You and I both know you told Da before I shot Vasov.”

He laughed. “Been saving your ass for a long time, bud. Anyway, Da thought it was amusing—”

“Thought he would, to be honest.”

“Yeah, well, he likes the sound of us having our own personal weapons. He’s already coming up with ideas for unique builds.”

“Just what we need—weapons built to Da’s specs.”

Declan fell silent. “Fuck. I never thought about that.”

My lips twitched at the horror in his voice, but I just muttered, “Get here ASAP. Hate having strangers in my place.”

“Be there soon.”

We disconnected the line, and I turned back to Inessa. Though she was a sight for sore eyes, her hair tumbled all over the place, thanks to us writhing all over the bed, her eyes were big in her pale face.

Knowing where her head was at, I immediately said, “Not your fault, sweetheart.”

She bit her lip. “Someone else has gotten hurt.”
