“I just wanted to give you an idea about what our wedding night will be, Knox.” I leaned in and kissed his lips. “I also have new cuffs.”

“You are the love of my life,” he stated. I could see the hunger returning to his blue eyes, but it toned down when we heard Sofi coming to us.

“Uncle Hunter!” Her face was lighted by the most beautiful smile. “I brought it.”

She was holding onto a large envelope.

“Then give it to Amy, baby girl. It’s her present.”

Sofi ran to me and we hugged for a long second. Every time she was in my arms, I didn’t want to let go.

“Here Amy,” she said. “This one is my present.”

“Baby, you didn’t need to get me anything.” But I was a little curious to see what was inside. I pulled out a stack of papers and the moment I saw the words, I started crying. “Sofi…”

“It’s adoption papers!” She squeaked with her hands in the air. “Uncle Hunter helped me get them.”

Hunter adopted her years ago, before her first birthday, but she knew that her mother had passed away. We both made efforts to keep Elena alive in her life and celebrate her. Now, she was asking me to be her adoptive mother. I have never felt so honored, so overwhelmed with love before.

“Sofi…”

“Do you want to?” she asked hopefully.

“Baby girl.” I picked her up in my arms and kissed her forehead. “I’ve never wanted anything more.”

Hunter, myself, and our sweet Sofi. A family. It was all I needed. People wished for a happily ever after, but I got more than that. I got my own miracle and now I get to live it every day.

The End.
