Ilaid beside her, exhausted from our sex marathon. I couldn’t help myself. When I knew I finally had her, I couldn’t hold back. I loved feeling her trapped underneath me no matter where we were. It may sound silly, but it was like I was trapping her with me, not allowing her to leave, even though I knew it would happen one day.

It was stifling in here, despite the air conditioning being on. I got up and walked over to the window, throwing it open. The curtains blew inward with the breeze coming off the ocean. The storm brewing above us brought in a cold front that quickly cooled my skin. It was still early in the morning, but never too early to call Shane.

I snatched my phone off the floor and dialed his number. His groggy voice reminded me of our college days when he was hungover. “I’m not working today.”

“Why?”

“Because I’m with Rose. Besides, it’s going to be raining all day.”

“We work inside,” he retorted.

“I still have to walk over there.”

“I’ll bring you your Jeep.”

“And then you would get wet,” I pointed out.

“I’m not afraid of the rain. Besides, what am I supposed to do with her friend if you’re with Rose all day.”

I frowned. “What are you talking about?” And then it hit me. “You took her home with you?”

“What the hell was I supposed to do with her? Rose kicked her out.”

“So, you took her home for someplace to sleep or to sleep with her?”

“Hey, I was doing the gentlemanly thing. If anything else occurred, that’s not my fault.”

“You could have made up the spare room for her,” I argued, grinning the whole time.

I heard him sigh and shuffled out the door, shutting it behind him. I assumed he left her alone in the bedroom.

“So, what’s the problem?” I asked. “So you spend the day with her in bed. Sounds like a plan to me.”

“Then she’ll get all needy.”

“Does she seem needy to you?”

“Not really, but that’s no guarantee. Man, I can not get involved with another woman that won’t give me makeup sex.”

“Well, maybe you should pick a fight with her and see how it turns out.”

He was quiet for a moment. “A preemptive fight to find out if we’re compatible. I like it. It might work.”

“Yeah, you just have to figure out what you should fight about. If you make it too big of a fight, she’ll walk before you can find out. If you make it too small of a fight, you risk losing the makeup sex.”

“Any suggestions?”

“You could always try kicking her out when she wakes up.”

“Why wait?”

“Man, it’s four o’clock in the morning. You can’t wake her up just to pick a fight.”

“Why not? I’d say this is the perfect thing to do. It’s a douchebag move.”

“Right, but then are you really going to make her find someplace else to go in the middle of the night?”
