That was a good point, one I hadn’t really considered. I walked over to my closet where I kept spare clothes, just in case I needed them. I pulled out a shirt and tossed it on the table, then undid the buttons on the one I was wearing. I slid it over her arms, pulling it closed in the front as I buttoned it.

“Why am I wearing your shirt when I could wear the one you just got out?”

I leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her lips as I finished with the buttons. “Because I like you smelling like me. It wards off the other men.”

“I already smell like you,” she smiled.

“Not enough,” I said, kissing her hard one last time. Then I grabbed the shirt and pulled it on and tucked it in. I took my suit jacket and wrapped it around her, making sure it was closed. “It’s going to be a cold ride home, but I’ll keep you warm.”

“Promises, promises,” she grinned, heading for the door. I watched her go, her hips swaying side to side as she strutted in her fuck me heels. I shook it off and followed or I’d never get out of here. I clicked the button for the frosted windows and unlocked the door, but came to a halt when I saw a beet red Jerry standing outside the office and my assistant keeping him back with an evil grin on her face.

I couldn’t help myself. “Was that enough proof for you, or did you need to be in the room next time?”

He stormed away, obviously pissed that he hadn’t won. But his stunt tonight put me in a better position. The board may still like Jerry and vote with him on issues, but they saw him in a different light now, one where he was manipulative and would do anything for power. That would only help me in the future. I may not be able to get rid of the bastard, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t make his life a living hell if he continued to come after me.

“What happened in there?” Shane asked as he walked up, staring through the glass walls of the office. The files and various other objects were strewn all over the floor. “Dude, I told you to fix your marriage, not get in a fight and tear it to shreds.”

Rose stepped out from behind me, finally catching his attention.

“Oh…So…problem solved?”

I felt Rose slip her arm through mine and I wrapped an arm around her protectively, though she didn’t need protecting from anyone here.

“Alisha, would you please make sure my desk is back in order by Monday? I’ll be taking tomorrow off.”

Her eyebrows shot up. “No, I draw the line at cleaning up your sexcapades. But you do have an intern that I’m not fond of.”

She grinned at me as she walked away. I felt slightly sorry for whoever the intern was. In the short time I’d known her, I’d already realized Alisha could be hell on wheels.

“I’m going to take Clarissa home,” Shane announced.

I held out my hand to shake his. “That’s right. You have that early flight tomorrow.”

Clarissa looked up at him with a frown. “I thought you said you were here for the week?”

He clearly didn’t expect to be called out, which I found hilarious. He thought he would stay in town without me knowing, probably so he could now spend time with Clarissa without me busting his balls after he tried to get out of spending time with her tonight.

“I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of you before you leave.” My gaze flicked to Clarissa. “Or not.”
