“No degradation?” Rebecca asked.

Amanda shook her head. “We took it off the table, at least for now. It feels like varsity level play, and we’re still on the scrimmage team.”

“How does he plan to objectify you?” Sadie wanted to know. “And when?”

“I’m pretty sure Valentine’s Day is the when.”

“How do you know?” Sadie asked.

“Because he asked if I could get the day off,” Amanda said. “He wouldn’t do that if we were just going out to dinner. Plus, he’s been spacing out the scenes, so we have plenty of opportunity to talk them out and evaluate how we feel about them, and the timing is right.”

“What a romantic,” Olivia said with a small smile.

“And as for what,” Amanda continued, “My guess is he’s going to use me as a come dumpster.”

“A come dumpster?” Sadie echoed.

“You know, a substitute for his fist,” Amanda elaborated. “Not caring about my pleasure or comfort, just getting his and moving on.”

“So, detached again,” Rebecca said. “Emotionally, anyway.”

“Yep.”

“How do you feel about that?”

Amanda grinned at Sadie. “Hot. I feel hot.”

Rebecca laughed. “Okay then.”

There was a moment of silence as all four women pondered that, then Sadie clapped her hands. “Okay, this is turning me on, and I put my vibrator on the charger before I came over, so let’s get this show on the road so I can get home to Mr. Buzzy. What are we packing?”

“The kitchen,” Rebecca said over the peals of laughter, and pushed to her feet. “Nick tried to put all my good dishes in one box with a single sheet of bubble wrap around the whole stack, then got pissy when I told him he was doing it wrong.”

“Hence, the promise of a celebratory butt fuck if we get it done.” Sadie stood with a nod. “Let’s go.”

Amanda stood, tugging Olivia with her. “I need something to soak up this wine. How does everyone feel about pizza?”

“Already ordered.” Rebecca held up her phone. “Twenty minutes.”

“Have I mentioned that I really like you?” Amanda asked.

Rebecca grinned. “And I made fudge brownies for dessert.”

“Hot damn!” Sadie sprinted into the kitchen. “Dibs on the corner piece!”

“They’re for dessert, Sadie,” Rebecca called after her.

“Not if I get to them first,” Sadie yelled back.

“Reallylike her,” Amanda said as Rebecca rushed into the kitchen after Sadie, and linked arms with Olivia. “Hey. You know you can talk to me, right? About anything.”

“I know.” Olivia laid her head on Amanda’s shoulder, just for a moment, then straightened with a determined smile. “I have to work it out for myself first.”

“Fair enough.” Telling herself to be content with that, Amanda gave her friend’s arm a squeeze. “We better hurry up or they’re going to eat all the brownies.”

Olivia’s smile warmed, and a hint of mischief glinted in her hazel eyes. “If Sadie eats my brownie, I’ll just go next door and unplug Mr. Buzzy.”

“Don’t you dare!”
