“I love you too.”
As Leo finishes up, I quickly burp him, then make sure his blankets are nice and snug for his swaddle.
“Should I send the text?” Vince asks.
I give a little nod.
With Leo already drifting off again, I snuggle against Vince and wait.
As the sound of footsteps grows louder, Vince looks down at me. “Ready for the stampede?”
“As I’ll ever be.” I shrug. Then yawn.
“I can tell them to wait,” he says, brows dipping in with concern.
“No. It’s okay.” I give him a reassuring smile. “We’ll keep it short. The crazy is worth it for the love.”
The love that keeps me going. The love that lifts me up on bad days. The love that never gives up. The love that got me here. It always goes back to love.
Stupid, freaking love.
