I bite back a smile. “I figured I’d just use my puppy dog eyes on you if I needed to. Or just grab Harper and distract you with her cuteness.”
He looks around at the mention of Harper’s name. “Where is my little bambina?”
“She’s with Braden. He and his parents want to take her overnight next weekend, so this is a daytime trial run to see if they think they can manage it with Braden still recovering.”
My dad flips the heat off and pulls the pan off the stove. “Does Braden know about Vince moving in?”
“He does. He was really good about it. We’re doing a lot better.”
He smiles as he plates up the food. “Good. I told you, you’d get there, eventually.”
“But would I be me if I didn’t want to solve every problem immediately?”
He chuckles. “I guess not.” He sets the plate between us and grabs two forks. “Let’s eat.”
