Ella giggles at the scowling look on my face as whirl to stick my head out of the dressing room.

“What is it, Kevin?” I grunt.

“So sorry to intrude, Master Ransom. But Mrs. Ransom’s car is here.”

I roll my eyes. Young Jacob has taken it upon himself to send his own driver to pick Ella up for dinner. I’d be substantiallymoreirate about this if I was still under the impression that he was attracted to women. But even still, I don’t have to love it.

“She’ll be right out, Kevin.”

“Very good, Master Ransom.”

Ella snorts behind me.

“Oh, let Kevin have his fun,” I chuckle.

“Yeah, but how come you get to beMasterRansom, and I’m justMrs.Ransom? How come I’m not Mistress Ransom?”

“Because you’re not dressed in leather, whipping his balls while he calls you mommy?”

She explodes into laughter as I pull her close.

“Okay, gross. But I still don’t get why you get to be Master.”

“Easy,” I growl. “Because Iamthe master of the house.”

She blushes, raking her teeth over her lip.

“Oh, is that so?”

“It’s extremely so.”

My lips dip to her ear as she shivers.

“And when you get back tonight, I’m going to show you precisely how much master of this household I am.”

She swallows a shaky breath.

“I think I’d enjoy that,” she purrs.

“I know you will.”

She grins at me.

“I love you, you know.”

“I love you, too.”

I’ve just comein from seeing Ella off in the town car Jacob sent, when Kevin informs me that Oliver has arrived.

“Thank you, Kevin. I’ll see him in my office.”

“Is there a particular vintage I could open for you both?”

I shake my head.

“The scotch on the bar cart in my office will be fine, thanks.”

I head upstairs to put a jacket on, then I head down to my office. When I step in, Oliver is already sitting on one of the couches by the fireplace.
