My heart soars.Finally, something good.

“Can we say three weeks from today, as a firm date? That would be Wednesday, the tenth.”

I don’t even need to think about it.

“I wouldlovethat!” I blurt.

I frown, coaching myself.

“I mean, yes, that sounds perfect.”

Jacob grins. “Excellent. The tenth it is. I’ll have the whole contract emailed to you ahead of time, and feel free to poke as many holes in it as you’d like with your legal counsel.”

I nod eagerly, not even really trusting myself to open my mouth, lest I blurt something stupid again.

“Fantastic.” Jacob grins at me before his face hardens a little. “And please, do not hesitate to ask for anything you need concerning this legal bollocks they’re trying to throw at you. Absolutely disgraceful, if you ask me.”

He sticks a hand out. I take it, shaking firmly.

“Three weeks?”

“Three weeks,” I grin.

“Perfect.”

When he’s gone, I quietly shut the door and then turn to lean against it.

“You live averyexciting life, you know.”

I grin at Harry, shaking her head at me in disbelief.

“I could do with a lot, lotless excitement, actually.”

“Well, I was going to suggest we get drunk and watch Bridgerton, but that might be entirely too thrilling for you.”

I grin. “I think I would love that.”
