“Ray, you love him?” She asks. She knows I do.

“I think I always will, no matter where I live or where I work.”

“Well then, you have to decide which you want more — your dream to have a family or the one man you’d ever have it with.”

“What am I supposed to do, Willow?” My heart squeezes and I feel her hand take mine and hold it tightly.

“I can’t tell you that, Ray. But I don’t think I have to, do I? You already know what the right decision is.”

I smile and hug her close.

“Oh, here,” she places my hand on her stomach. I can feel the flutters of the new life inside her body, kicking against my hand. My face lights up.

“Oh Willow, I wish you’d find out whether you’re having a boy or a girl. But either way, I think you’re having a soccer player.”

My sister shakes her head with a wry smile. “We want to be surprised.”

I smile back.

“Just promise me one thing, Ray,” she says pressing my hand against her firm belly again. “You’ll come and meet him or her when I deliver. Atlanta is so far away.”

My brow crinkles and I rest my head on her shoulder again, comforted by her love and support. My sister is a duplicate of my heart who lives and walks around right before my eyes. Willow is my best friend. She understands what it is I must do. That alone is all I need.
