His eyes met mine. Angling his head forward, he spoke in a whisper. “Are you interested in me, Liam?”

I couldn’t fucking speak. There was a moment of silence when it felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room, and then, finally, I gave a single nod.

“Good,” he breathed, and then his lips were on mine.

He let go of my hand in favour of sliding his arms around my waist, so I brought my hand up to cup the back of his neck, my fingers brushing across the short hairs there. He shivered, and I smiled against his mouth.

His lips moved to my ear. “Why don’t we try doing some stuff together?”

I pressed into him, getting one of my thighs between his. My brain had forgotten all the arguments I’d been having with myself now his body was all up against mine. “Mmm, yeah. I like this idea.”

“Not that.” Drawing back enough to look at me properly, he gave me a small smile. “I mean, what you were saying about us having nothing in common. Why don’t we try spending some time together, as friends? Go out somewhere, or whatever. There’s more to life than running and football, you know.”

“More to life than football?”

He rolled his eyes at my pretend shock. “More tousthan running and football, then.”

The thump of a book being dropped sounded from a couple of stacks over, and we both jumped. He quickly released me, and I stepped back until I hit the shelves behind me. My heart was pounding, but I managed to reply. “Okay.”

“Okay.” Pushing away from the stack he was leaning against, he made his way to the end of the aisle. “Did you realise you left your laptop unattended out here? Someone could’ve nicked it.”

“If you hadn’t run off when I was trying to have a conversation with you, it wouldn’t have been left unattended. If anything, it’s your fault.” I followed him back over to the desk where I’d left all my stuff.

Lowering his voice, he leaned into me. “Yeah, but if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been able to kiss you in the library.”

I glanced around us. I couldn’t see anyone in our immediate vicinity, so I twisted my head and brushed a quick kiss across his lips. “You were saying?”

He smiled, wide and happy. “Why don’t you finish whatever you’re doing? I’ll go and grab us some coffees from the third floor.” I was already sliding into my seat and moving my laptop into place as he was speaking, and I nodded in agreement. Taking a step away from me, he hesitated for a second, then came back to me, bending down to place his mouth to my ear. “When you’re finished, maybe we can go back home and try doing somestufftogether.”

“Fuck,” I muttered, shifting in my seat. He straightened up, giving me a cocky grin, then strutted away in the direction of the doors without a backwards look.

It was a good job there was no one around to see the shameless way I checked him out, adjusting my cock as he walked away from me.
