“I hope so.”
“You are.” I leaned out of her hold and fell against the cushions. “Thank you for being here for me.”
She gave me a smile and a wink. “That’s what friends are for.” She patted my leg and added, “Now, go get your man.”
“I can’t.” I sniffled loudly in an inelegant fashion. “How am I supposed to go see him now?”
She passed me a napkin from the basket. “Maybe with a little less snot.” Catherine hooted with laughter at the hilarity of her comment as I blew my nose like a foghorn. “And maybe consider changing your socks so they match.”
I wiggled my feet for her.
We shared another laugh before I walked her out and made plans to go after what I wanted most.
