“You're stubborn, pigheaded, and rebellious. Just like me,” I countered with a grin. “That’s why we’re perfect for each other, Tyler. You get me. And I get you.”

He shook his head and chuckled. “I think you might just want me around to fold your fitted sheets.”

I shoved off that idea with a laugh of my own. “We can hire a housekeeper. You never have to fold a sheet again. I promise. Of course, it will have to be a very homely housekeeper.”

Tyler laughed. “Wow. You've really thought this through.”

I nodded profusely. “I want you for forever. To be together. To never be alone or without you again.”

“You're not alone, Siren. You'll never be alone. You're fucking stuck with me forever.”

“Does that mean yes, Sandman?”

“Yes, Marisa.” He brought his lips to mine. “Yes, of course. It would make me the happiest man, on land or sea, to have you as my wife.”

“And it would make me the happiest woman in the world—on land or sea—to have you as my husband.”

We sat for several moments, staring at one another, silly grins on our faces, happy as clams. “I love you, Tyler. I love you more than you will ever know.”

“I love—” My cell phone ringing interrupted his words. His eyes moved to the coffee table where the sound was coming from. “Don’t you dare let that thing interrupt us one more time.” Of all the times an incoming call interrupted us, this was one instance I refused to allow my phone to disrupt what was happening between Tyler and me.

I leaned over, turned the phone off, and said, “I wouldn’t dream of it.” I straddled him and lifted his shirt over his head. Feeling his skin under my hands made my insides heat up like never before. “Nothing’s going to stop me from celebrating with you right now.”
