Chaos craned her neck to look up at me. “Shouldn’t I be included?”

I swiped my hand down her hair. “I won’t keep anything from you.”

She stared hard at me, then she nodded. “All right.”

I followed Aidan into another room. He closed the door behind us, engaging the lock.

I arched a brow at him. “State secrets?”

“No ears.”

I folded my arms. “What didn’t you say in there?”

“Dark web stuff makes me itchy. It’s not my forte, though Poe is familiar with it and works well in those dark fucking corridors. I don’t like that there’s a goddamn network of people that can get this kind of detail. Not just on Willow. I found an ugly amount of shit in those forums. Some things on my other clients as well. Now I’ve got to handle all of that.”

“Guess we opened a can of worms.”

“And then some.” Aidan rubbed the back of his neck. “When Poe came to me with this, my bullet wound got twitchy.”

Aidan’s brother Marcus discounted his brother’s spidey senses, but I didn’t. My own had saved my life on more than one occasion.

“I’m going to send one of my people to the farm to find any other cameras. The one that’s directed at Willow’s apartment, I’m not sure I can handle. Might be in a personal residence or in a goddamn tree. She’s close to the park.”

“That won’t be an issue. She’s moved out. If the jackass has been watching her, he probably knows that too. She packed up her car yesterday.”

“So, she’s relocating to Turnbull with her sister?”

“With me.”

Aidan’s eyes narrowed. “I see.”

“Clay and Rachel’s wedding is coming up. No room at the inn with them.”

“Hmm.”

I raked my fingers through my hair. “It’s not ideal, but I can keep track of her easier if she lives with me. And no one will be getting a camera near her.”

“Will you be keeping track of her with your dick?”

“Fuck off.”

His lips kicked up at the corner. “Yeah. You don’t work for me, so I can’t say anything about it. Emotions make shit messy. Even if you’re not getting naked with her, I know she’s Clay’s sister-in-law. Makes her important.”

“You never miss a trick.”

He snorted. “You’d think so.”

I frowned at him.

“Never mind.”

I wasn’t one to pry because I hated when people did it to me, so I let it go. “I don’t want to scare Rachel, but I will if I have to.”

“For now, let me keep digging. Poe found six different people who want the details, but I don’t know if it’s six people or six personas right now. Digital trails are getting harder to track, especially on the murkier dark forums that want to stay anonymous.”

“Yeah.Fuck.”

“We’ll figure it out, it just will take some time. Until then, we’ll safeguard her as much as possible.”
