“I could tell her not to post.”

Aidan barked out a laugh. “Right. It’s her career. Unlikely. And that might make this guy more dangerous, anyway. Right now, he’s just probably jerking it to videos of her.”

“Jesus Christ, Aidan.”

“Sorry.”

I crossed my arms. “You’re just telling me straight. I appreciate it.”

“If Poe finds anything else—or something new—I’ll be in contact. Otherwise, I’ll send you updates every other day on what we find.”

He opened the door and I followed him out. “Set up a billing cycle. You have my details.”

“I’m sorry I couldn’t find your sister. Her skills are impressive.”

“That’s Marigold, definitely made to be a spy.” I glanced down the hallway and found Chaos standing just inside the doorway to the conference room. She was gnawing on her lower lip, her eyes on that damn screen.

She turned and spotted me.

“We have an eatery on the third floor. Why don’t you take her down for a coffee or something to eat? I’ll tag you when Poe’s done.”

“Good plan.” We shook hands. “Poe is gonna give me nightmares, isn’t she?”

“Probably.”

I blew out a breath. “Want to get some food, Chaos?”

Aidan’s eyebrow shot up. “Chaos?”

Her long legs ate up the carpet as she came toward us. “An unfortunate nickname he’s come up with. He thinks he’s clever.”

Aidan laughed. “We’ll be in touch. It was nice to meet you, Willow. I’m sorry it’s under these circumstances.”

“Me too.” She waited for Aidan to walk away before she turned toward me. “Want to explain what that was about?”

“Let’s get some food. It’s been a while since we had those eggs.”

“Okay. Are we going somewhere?”

“Just downstairs. Marcus and Aidan are nothing if not efficient when it comes to options.”

“I’m not really hungry.”

“We both need fuel.”

“All right.” She chewed on the corner of her lip. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about Jason.”

“I can’t help you if you keep things from me.”

Her gaze lowered. “I’m not proud of it.”

I tipped up her chin. “You didn’t do anything wrong.” Her eyes were still red-rimmed, but thank God, the tears were gone. Her gaze bounced from my eyes to my lips.

I stepped back and let her go.

She tucked her hair behind her ear. “Okay, feed me, Seymour.”

I jerked my head toward the hallway. “Get moving.”

She gave me that brilliant smile that millions of people fell in love with—and fuck me, I wanted to smile back.

But I didn’t. Not that she noticed.

Maybe I could work on doing the same. Then I wouldn’t notice her spectacular ass swinging its way down the hallway to the main part of the floor.

“Shit.”
