Chapter Twenty

Rémy

Sitting at the table enjoying Cora’s performance, I can’t help but grin as she looks at me. Right now, she’s not dancing for the crowd. This dance is solely meant for me. If only it were the two of us in the room—I’d be unable to hold back. I’d have to be inside her. Now. The way she moves her hips on the stage has me wanting her to do that while riding my cock.

My attention is pulled from the stage when a man dressed similar to me, but in solid black, sits in the seat directly in front of me. Frowning at the man, I straighten and face the stranger. “Can I help you?”

The guy grins at me, and something about him seems familiar, yet at the same time, disturbing and rubs me the wrong way. “My name’s Dimitri Savary,” he says, introducing himself.

“Well, Dimitri, can I ask why you’ve decided to join me at my table?” I frown, trying to place the guy’s last name. I swear I’ve heard that name before, but where?

“This table is reserved for family, and considering I’m your uncle, that includes me.” Dimitri chuckles maliciously.

Uncle?

This dude isn’t related to me. He’s more Félix’s and my age.

“I should emphasize, I’mDeanna DeLancy’sbrother.” My blood runs cold as that little bit of news sinks in. I remember Deanna having a sibling, but he didn’t live with her. He didn’t live near her because he was from her father’s first marriage or something like that. I don’t remember too much about their history. It’s why his last name sounded familiar.

“What are you doing here?” I demand, not feeling too kindly about him being in my club.

“I was promised something before my sister died, and I’m here to claim it. This is me letting you know who I am, and I’m not going anywhere until I get it.” Dimitri’s smirk switches to a look of someone who has no soul.

“Dimitri, you might wanna clue me into what it is your bitch of a sister promised you,” I state coolly. My eyes go to the stage briefly as I notice my woman exiting.

Good. She’ll be safe backstage. I don’t want this man in front of me to get any ideas about Cora.

“It’s not what my sister promised me, but your father.” Dimitri sneers.

“How about you enlighten me?” Leaning back in my seat, I cross my arms.

“My place in the family. I was supposed to become his right-hand man. Now that he’s dead, I intend to take his place.” He shrugs and glances around the building. “I don’t care how I have to do it.”

“Likefuck. There’s no way inhellyou’ll take what’snotyours.” I seethe, not appreciating the threats he’s not-so-subtly throwing at me.

Dimitri cackles and leans forward. “I most certainly will. One way or another.”

Pressing my hands flat on the table, I lean forward and pierce him with a glare. “You’re threatening thewrongfamily, Dimitri.” I’m not going to sit here and be threatened.

“Oh, it’s not just you I’ll be going after. I have things to do in this town and the next one over. My sister was killed because of some little bitch taking what wasn’t hers. And I’ll be making sure her retribution is met.” Dimitri stands from his seat and slips a small, folded paper across the table. “Until we meet again.” Tapping the paper, Dimitri leaves just as quickly as he came.

Snatching up the paper, my chest tightens as I read it.

I read it again:

Do you know where all your sisters are tonight?

Fuck.

Standing, I dig my phone from my pocket, note in hand. I start a call between all three of my brothers. They answer nearly at the same time.

“What?” This being Félix.

“I’m kinda busy here.” Nicholas would say that. He’s always busy.

“Hello,” Tristan answers.

“Have you talked to any of our sisters today?” I ask, moving to the exit.
