Lauren laughed. “You really need to keep practicing your complimenting skills, Sylvia. I don’t think starting with a critique is optimal.”

Biting back a grin, Sylvie pulled her down to her lips. “Why don’t you stop nit-picking and go get Travis, huh?”

Lauren quirked a brow. “Travis? Aren’t you tired? Plus . . . I distinctly remember someone telling me they weren’t into sex toys.”

When she’d stopped at the adult store on a whim after running errands, Sylvie had been scandalized by the idea of walking into a sex shop.

“Are you kink-shaming me right now, Lauren?”

“No! I’m just kind of amazed that you’ve got the stamina right now.”

Sylvie exaggerated her concern as she cupped Lauren’s face. “My poor baby,” she said, rejuvenated by the snark and sarcasm that kept her little body running like a perpetual motion machine. “If you’re too tired, I understand.”

Like a sentient fish, Lauren swam right up to the lure, recognized its nature, and chomped on it anyway. “Too tired?” In a quasi-push-up, she moved up to look Sylvie in the face. “Please. You’ll never outlast me.”

Sylvie’s pink cheeks brightened. “Wanna bet?”

Alive in every sense of the word, Lauren cocked her head to the side. “What do you have to offer?”

Sylvie bit her bottom lip. A cheap, but effective, ploy. “I don’t know . . . maybe I’ll let you wear Travis as a reward if I tap out first.”

Lauren tossed her head back to let her laugh travel the length of her body. “That sounds like a reward for you, Sylvia.”

She pulled Lauren down into a messy kiss, both of them still grinning. “Whatever. We both win, okay?”

As she gazed into Sylvie’s honey eyes, Lauren agreed. “We both win.”
