A liar whom I loved.

Dammit.

“I’ve got all kinds of problems you know nothing about, Trey.”

If there was one thing I knew, it was that arguing with an addict was stupid.

Pointless.

You might as well shoot yourself in the foot. It would be less painful than trying to talk them around.

If Trey didn’t believe he had a problem—there was no way in heck I’d be able to convince him.

“What are your problems, Lex? Tell me. I can help,” Trey said in a soothing, calm voice.

I shut my eyes and did my best not to get sucked in by Trey Turner and his good looks and boyish charm.

But, it was difficult not to fall for him.

Every cell in my body wanted him.

Fortunately, despite last night’s activities, I still had a few brain cells to rub together.

“Right now? You’re my biggest problem.”

I weaved around him and opened the door. A few yards out the door, Trey yelled, “That’s right! Run away just like you always fuckin’ do!”

That burning behind my eyes started up again, and I didn’t dare look back at him.

If I did—I knew I’d crumple right to the ground.
