I dropped my glass on the bar and headed toward my wife.

My blood was fucking boiling at the thought of another man touching any part of her body.

I made my way through the mess of people dancing.

But the further I managed to get on the dance floor, the further Lexi and the two guys got from me.

It was driving me insane.

Finally, I yelled out to my wife, “Lexi!”

Her head slowly turned to mine, and she smiled at me for a moment before pulling my teammate’s head down to her—and kissing him.

He kissed her back, and there they were, making out right in front of me on the dance floor.

I kept moving through the maze of gyrating, sweaty bodies—but just like before, Lexi seemed to get further away instead of closer.

I was goddamn livid.

I started screaming for them to stop—and they did the opposite. My teammate whispered in her ear, and Lexi laughed, then nodded.

She pulled his hand, and he followed her off the dance floor.

“Where the fuck are you going?” I bellowed over the loud ass noise of the annoying music.

I sped up, pushing frantically by all of these stupid people.

I was getting hotter by the second and I was sweating like a pig. My shirt was sticking to me and I felt rivers of perspiration fall down my neck.

Now, Lexi was leaving out the door—with that fucking guy she’d been making out with.

What the fuck?

I screamed out to her one more time, as loud as I possibly could—

And startled myself awake.

I sat up in Lexi’s bed and looked around, realizing it had only been a dream.

I huffed and puffed, doing my best to catch my breath. I wiped my hand across my forehead and it nearly slipped right off.

“Fuck me,” I said to absolutely no one. I’d sweat through her sheets so horribly, that there was no way I could lay down again.

Although my dream had ended—I could still hear the music.

Then it clicked.

“Shit, shit, shit.” I jumped out of bed and ran as quickly as I could up the stairs.

The smell of cigarette smoke and pot hit me like a wall when I got to the landing.

I raced down the hall and expected to see Wes sitting on his couch, having his party for one.

Except he wasn’t in the living room.

Or the kitchen.

I darted through the house and up the stairs to the second level.
