I wave off Rose’s offer. “I’ll be fast, and it's the middle of the day on a public street. Enzo is off today and he's at the house I think, so I won't be there alone."

They hadn't been leaving the house empty since the break in, wanting to keep an eye out for things, even with the security cameras that are hooked up to everyone's phones. Even my burner and Rose and Trix’s phones too.

Their tech friend had cleaned up the spyware she found on my phone, but I still refuse to use it, not trusting it. My computer thankfully was clean. All my passwords are changed, and everything has stronger security now and she's keeping an eye out on the pack's network, so hopefully whoever is behind the hacks is cut off.

The timing of them being cut off and the dead rose on my pillow is certainly suspicious. Like it was a threat. They're pissed off they can't spy on me through my phone, so they show me they can get to me anywhere, anytime?

It's certainly not helping my stress levels. Though after days of all of us being completely on edge and stressed, some of the anxiety has faded a bit. It's impossible to keep that level of vigilance up constantly forever. At some point, you have to live your life, but we're trying to be smart about it.

Hopefully I don't regret running back to the house two blocks away alone.

Every single person I pass on the way, I eye like they're a possible murderer and I keep sniffing, trying to see if I catch the familiar scent that makes my stomach hurt. But no one pays me any attention and no one smells like dead roses.

Inside the house, I slip upstairs to the bedroom I no longer sleep in. I barely go in there at all. I just run in to grab clothes and then run out again, using the hall bathroom instead of the ensuite.

I pull my file folder I keep all my important documents in from my bag, hugging it to my chest as I head back downstairs. Where is Enzo? I'm surprised he didn't pop up as soon as I came inside to make sure I"m not the intruder.

Worry flutters in my stomach. What if he's hurt because the asshole came back and they fought or something? And fuck, I left my phone at the library. I'm the dumbest blonde white virgin in a horror movie right now.

I refuse to call out, instead I tiptoe through the halls with my ears perked while I hold my breath. Sounds come from the library, and my eyes widen.

Oh, hell no. They're not ruining that oasis for us. That place is sacred. I'll beat them to death with this file folder if I need to. After I burn out their eyes with my pepper spray. At least I didn't forget that.

I've been keeping it in my pocket at all times.

After taking a deep breath, I let it out slowly and then carefully open the door.

And immediately drop the pepper spray, barely noticing as it rolls away. I'm too busy staring at one of the hottest sights of my entire fucking life. Oliver is sprawled out on one of the couches, completely naked, his muscles covered in a sheen of sweat, looking languid and satisfied, an open book propped over his... cock.

He blinks at me owlishly when he notices my arrival. "Uh, love? What are you doing here?"

"I... what... uh...." I can't seem to make my words work.

I also can't stop staring at him. Fuck, why is he so gorgeous? And who knew I had a kink for a naked person doing something filthy to a book?

His lips curl into a smirk, and he does nothing to cover himself. "Did I break you?"

"Yes." I gesture wildly at him. "You— that's... I..." I whimper and slap my hands over my eyes.

"Hey, I don't know what it was that...whoa, fuck, Rory?" Enzo is behind me, finally arriving from wherever the hell he’s been.

"Are you naked too?" I ask.

"Halfway. I have on boxers."

I press my hands harder against my face. “Fuck."

"Hold on. We'll cover up. What are you doing here?" Enzo asks.

There’s rustling in front of me and I assume they’re clothing themselves.

"I needed some paperwork I had here. When I didn't see you, I got worried and then I found, uh, Oliver. Looking like that."

"Right. Sorry. We must have just missed each other. I heard you out there and went to investigate."

"I came home to seduce him,” Oliver adds.

Enzo chuckles with a slight groan. ”Yeah, he laid himself out just like that and triggered the security alert so that I'd see him, the shit. Like I could resist that."
