I clear my throat. “I get it. No judgments from me."

"We're decent. Mostly."

I squint as I slowly move my hands away from my bright red face. Only to scowl when I catch both of them smirking like assholes.

"Oh, don't act like you aren't aware you're both hot as hell."

Oliver shrugs. “You're somehow able to resist us, so we must not be that hot."

I can't remember at the moment why I'm resisting. Maybe there are some residual heat hormones making me horny or something. Or it's just these fucking men.

"Giving in to your hotness just makes things more complicated."

It sounds like a bullshit excuse as soon as it's out of my mouth. The truth is, I'm afraid. If I sleep with any or all of them outside my heat, I'm going to get even more attached. And I still haven't decided what I want yet.

"It doesn't have to,” Oliver says.

I back away towards the door. “I...I should get back to the library. Robin needs this information."

I'm running again. And they're letting me. They don't hide the disappointment and longing from their faces fast enough, but they force smiles and nod at me, letting me leave without argument or protest.

And something contrary in me is butthurt about it, even though I'd be offended if they didn't respect my decision. This is what happens when you can't figure out what you want. You end up crazy. And ridiculous.

I stomp back to the library, dropping the file onto the table with a slap. "Here's the shit they need."

Rose blinks up at me, concern in her gaze. “What the hell happened?"

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing." I refuse to explain further, my face still burning.

A burn that grows even brighter when Oliver returns to the library, no sign of his debauched afternoon in the buttoned up librarian vibe he puts on here.

I couldn't even pick which side of him I prefer. Either version is hot.
