Page 119 of Restless Omega

The cellar is bigger than I expected, an actual fucking tunnel beneath the gardens. And it reeks of dead roses down here. We're definitely in the right place. Callan’s breath brushes against the back of my neck as we move deeper into the cellar, our steps as silent as we can make them as we follow the stench of roses.

My heart pounds in my ears, making it hard for me to hear anything over it as my imagination runs wild. What if he killed her and just left her here?

What if it just smells like roses down here because we're currently below a rose garden, and he's already long gone with her stuffed in the trunk or something?

The cops here have reached out to the cops in the town in Idaho so they're on the lookout too, checking his house, but who knows how seriously they're taking it. How much do they really care about one missing unbonded omega who is on the older edge of the spectrum? She's with an alpha. She's supposed to have a choice, but I doubt they'll work that hard to get her back. At most, he'll probably only get a slap on the wrist for this anyway. He'll be in more trouble for invading the pack's house because other alphas live there.

It's fucking bullshit.

Shouts sound from above us, causing Trix and I to bump into each other as we try to turn.

"What the hell is happening up there?" I ask.

"I don't know. Come on."

The flash in the corner of my eye is the only thing that stops me. I aim my phone in that direction, squinting through the murky darkness, searching for the source as everyone else starts heading back towards the entrance.

My stomach drops and I shriek as eyes glow at me in the darkness.

It takes me a moment to realize it's a person, not a rat.

It's Rose.

I scream for Trix as I fall to my knees and slide across the ground, shaking hands reaching for Rose. She's gagged and tied up, but I don't see any blood or bruises as I untangle her from the ropes and duct tape. Tears track down my face as I free her and then she's in my arms and Trix is holding us both and we're all crying.

And then Rose and Trix are kissing basically in my lap.

Callan squats next to us, his hand on my shoulder. "The fucker is up there."

I wave him off. “Go. We've got her."

Rose is more important than revenge or getting our licks in right now. As long as he's captured and stopped, I no longer give a shit. I just want Rose safe and the hell out of here. Trix and I get on either side of her, helping her to her feet, wrapping our arms around her waist, dragging her out of there.

"I'm okay, you two. I'm just stiff. The asshole didn't hurt me. He just decided I had to spend the night here to see if it would put me in a better mood by morning when I declined his invitation to bond with him. Fucking asshole."

I mop my face with my free hand. “I’m so sorry. That stupid fucker who doxxed me caused all this."

Rose huffs. “Yeah, but you didn't, so don't fucking take this on. I'll be fine once I'm showered and in your packs' house."

"They aren't my pack."

She snorts. “Aren't they?"

"Let's just focus on getting you out of here." I gesture to the narrow stairs.

"Gladly."

Trix and I follow, ready in case she falls. Relief pounds through me with each step as we climb from the cellar. We found her. She's okay. She's safe.

Rose almost falls back, shaking and trembling when she makes it through the doors.

"What? What is it?"

Trix and I fight and shove our way past her, jerking to a stop at the realization she's laughing, not crying. And when we see why, we join her.

The omegas who came to help along with Oliver have beaten and kicked the shit out of that alphahole. Everyone else hangs back, watching with amusement, not lifting a finger to help, letting the omegas work out their fury.

"Should we go ahead and call the police?" I ask.
