Not that anyone will handle it all that well if we try to add a second omega to our pack. It's not illegal, but it's certainly unusual. There would definitely be pushback, other packs and alphas claiming we're hoarding omegas. And others will claim our pack is doomed to fail since the two omegas would tear it apart with their jealousy and possessiveness.

Completely ignoring that usually it's alphas' possessiveness and jealousy that tears packs apart.

But alphas can do no wrong in our world.

Chapter Ten

THE LIBRARY IS SLAMMED today, keeping me busy once I arrive, even with all of my librarians there helping. The new omega arrivals have the entire town a little more awake than usual. It happens every time a group of them arrive here.

Typically things slow down after a week or so, but right now the omegas are getting used to the place and the alphas are out in force, strutting around, hoping to attract one of the new omegas.

I do wish things would slow down, so I could sneak to the back of the place and check on Aurora. I noticed her slide in earlier, still looking tired, but she had at least changed clothes.

I've been known to lose myself in reading like that too until my beta or my alpha pull me out of it. I've had to pull them out of the same.

Everything I know so far about Aurora tells me she'd be a perfect fit for our pack, especially if Grey finds her scent so irresistible. Even our beta is intrigued and he's an ute commitment-phobe.

It's fucking adorable, watching them interact with her.

But sadly, it seems like an alpha, a pack, or any type of settling down is the last thing she wants. And I understand that choice probably better than anyone. I adore my pack and I wouldn't trade them for any other life, but sometimes, I can't fucking breathe being stuck here, unable to travel or see the world unless I take an alpha with me. And even then, I can't until we're officially bonded unless we have special permission.

It's all such bullshit.

But I'm going to find a way to make it to that rally, even if I have to sneak out of town.

I just have to figure out how to tell my pack.

I know they'll support me, but I don't want them in trouble for helping me.

Even though I'm part of an unofficial pack, that doesn't mean I'm uninterested in omega rights. It doesn't mean having more freedoms wouldn't affect me. And even if it didn't, there are so many omegas who don't have the luck I did of finding such progressive and perfect packmates.

They deserve freedom and choices. We all do.
