They're allowed their violence and their rage because they're alphas. It's just who they are. They're never expected to control themselves, it's always on omegas or betas to calm alphas, to not upset them.

It's all such bullshit.

Other countries have more equality than this. They're not stuck in the past, holding on to traditions because that's the way it's always been done, ignoring how we've evolved, how we have more information and knowledge now.

Maybe it's time for me to start looking into getting the hell out of here. They don't make it easy at all for omegas to leave the country, especially to move somewhere else. They want us to stay here, to learn our place, to keep breeding. But there are ways. And I have contacts who can help me.

I want to stay and fight, but I'm exhausted.

I lose myself to defeat as Trix drives us through the sunset and on into the night. She leaves me to my thoughts even when we stop, giving me the space I need to work through the day.

By the time we make it back to the edge of town, I'm feeling a little better, not quite as hopeless.

Until I see Grey waiting for me, arms crossed and jaw hard.

Well, hell.

AURORA LOOKS PALE AND exhausted as she climbs off the back of the bike, but it only pisses me off more instead of softening me. I should've known her friend was full of shit earlier, claiming she suddenly went into heat. There's no way the scent of Aurora's heat wouldn't have reached me through her door. Or I would've scented it on her in the days leading up to it.

"How'd you beat us here?" Aurora looks behind me, her brow furrowed, like she’s searching for someone else here with me.

But I’m alone. I came as soon as I got the call that she had been at the rally. And I’ve worked myself up into quite a state.

"What?"

My confusion trips me up, making me forget my anger for the moment.

"I thought you were all staying in the hotel.”

Ah, I see.
