Grey raises his middle finger. “You're both assholes."

I blow him a kiss. “But you love us."

He harrumphs. “I don't know why."

I turn to my beta with a soft smile. "Don't think I'm going to let what you said go by. You're really ready to bond?"

He grins down at me, love and determination in his eyes. “I am. I'm sorry it's taken me so long, but maybe there's a reason for it."

My brow wrinkles. “What? You mean, waiting for her?"

He shrugs. “Maybe. I don't really believe in fate, but it's hard not believe there's something at work with her arrival. And her scent."

Grey and I both grunt. Her scent is certainly something none of us had seen coming.

"So we're doing this?" Grey rubs his hands together.

I nod. “Let's talk to our last packmate tonight."

Chapter Twenty-One

Aurora

#

I WAKE UP TO THE WORDS “Die Bitch” painted on the door of my apartment.

Great. Things are already starting off wonderfully.

I leave the artwork on the door, and force myself not to cower as I walk as briskly as I can to the library. It's probably the safest place for today, even though it isn't a secret I spend all my time there. But I can't hole up in my room all day. I refuse to hide, and it's safer for me to be in public anyway.

I make it to the library without incident, the hour is still early enough there aren't too many people on the streets. Oliver is right inside the doors, relief covering his face as soon as he sees me come inside.

He moves like he’s going to hug me, but then seems to change his mind. “I’m glad you're here. I've been worried about you. We all were."

I shrug. “I’m fine."
